COVID-19 has been declared a global pandemic. This reality can be an anxious and fearful time as it is unchartered territory. During this time I am offering virtual telehealth sessions as a way to optimize the safety of my clients while ensuring clients feel safe and supported. I will be available for video and telephone sessions from the comfort of your own space. I understand this is an inconvenience for some and that there is no replacement for in-person connections. I wil...l continue to monitor the pandemic and notify you once in-office sessions resume. In the meantime, you can use telehealth as a way to continue to improve your health and wellness while practicing social distancing. Please remember that it is important to reach out to a therapist, dietitian, or support system if you are struggling. It is completely valid to feel all the emotions right now. Of course it can be triggering to see empty shelves at the grocery store if you have dealt with food scarcity or anorexia in the past. Of course it can be triggering to be stocking up on food if you are prone to binging as a way of managing anxiety or emotions. Of course social distancing can trigger feelings of isolation, loneliness, disconnection and rejection. Please make sure you are checking in with yourself and other regularly and are staying connected to your support system during this period of social distancing. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day I whipped up this fruit and chocolate yogurt dip snack. It was definitely a hit! Best part was that it was so simple to make. I find many of my clients are looking for ways to jazz up their fruit and veggie snacks and I think different variations of yogurt-based dips, like this one, are the way to go! It’s a great way to add in some extra protein, probiotics and plant based goodness! Chocolate Yogurt Dip ... 5.3oz Forager Project Cashewmilk Vanilla Bean yogurt 2 Tbsp Unsweetened 100% cacao 2 Tbsp PB2 powdered peanut butter 1.5 Tbsp Honey Fresh fruit for dipping Mix ingredients together and chill until ready to enjoy with fresh fruit or other dippers of choice! I don’t know if it’s the holiday season or my 2 year old and baby but lately I’ve been needing a little extra caffeine to get me through the day. Another thing that has been essential for me are grab and go options! Overnight oats are one of my favorite grab and go breakfast options since they can be prepared ahead of time and also are the perfect balance of protein, healthy carbs, fiber and so much more! I’ve lately been obsessed with this nutty mocha overnight oats comb...ination that I concocted! It’s so delicious and gives me that little extra energy boost to get me going and keep me going throughout the day. Choosing a high quality coffee like @Purity_Coffee is essential. Nutty Mocha Overnight Oats 1/2 cup rolled oats 1/2 cup high quality brewed coffee cold or at room temperature (I used Purity Coffee) 2 tsp chia seeds 2 tsp honey 1 Tbsp cacao 1 Tbsp natural peanut butter (or nut butter of choice) Optional toppings - sliced banana, drizzled pb, dusting of coffee beans, cacao nibs Combine all ingredients in a mason jar (or container of choice). Stir to mix completely and then store in the refrigerator overnight. When ready to eat too with toppings of your choice.
