As of right now, 12,312 School District of Philadelphia students in 162 schools have coded during our #HourofCode event to celebrate #CSEdWeek2020. We are thankful to our teachers and schools for understanding the importance exposure to Computer Science and access to Computer Science Education plays in making sure our students have access to these careers in the future. #PHLed #phillycodes

#CSEdWeek2020 starts on December 7. While things have been different this year during this pandemic, one thing remains the same and has been clear: our world relies heavily on technology. We want these high paying careers for our students! Participate in the HOC and expose your students to the possibilities. #PhillyCodes

As a result of planned protests in Center City tomorrow, the Education Center at 440 and the Parent and Family Technology Support Center at the Fitzpatrick Anne...x Building (4101 Chalfont Dr.) will be closed. Remote learning will resume as scheduled and all staff are expected to work remotely as they are able. The tragic deaths of George Floyd and far too many others in recent months continue to highlight the very real consequences of systemic racism and social injustice that persist across our nation. It’s important that while we openly and courageously confront these injustices, we do so peacefully, safely and in ways that will drive the meaningful change we all want for our city and country. As a vital part of this community, the School District of Philadelphia will continue to be a voice and partner in this important work of building a stronger and more just Philadelphia for all.
