Christmas is 2 weeks away!!! That sentence stirs up a little panic in my mind. There are things left to wrap and cookies left to bake and the list can go on. I know that thinking through all the gifts for friends and family can be overwhelming ... at least it can be for me. I really struggle to find a gift that can truly convey my gratitude and love for them. This year it dawned on me that I could take the guess work out of it. I would write them a letter and tell them how I ...feel! Wowza, that was simple!! My challenge to you is to carve out some time and write your loved ones a letter this Christmas. Tell them why you love them, a favorite memory you shared, or even a prayer you have for them. But make the time and do it! People cannot read your mind so tell them how you feel. You will not regret it. Be brave friends and share your heart! Love and courage, Kimberly Orr

When I was a little girl my brother and I would get on an airplane to spend a week at my grandparents' house in Rhode Island. We would go jet skiing and water skiing. We would play with our cousins. But the underlying theme of everything was food. My Meme, a french woman married to an Italian man, had one mission and that was to feed us. She lovingly filled our plates and our hearts all at once. One of my most treasured memories is the time she came into my bedroom after al...ready tucking me and brought me my favorite Italian pastry. I don't know the proper name but we called them "butterfly pastries". They were filled with strawberry jam and iced with small lines of white sugary frosting. I loved them. She came in my room and sat with me while I ate my pastry and kissed me goodnight again. It was so out of the ordinary and lovely. I was only 14 when she died. I still miss her. I have a few cards that she wrote me that I love to look at. I fondly read her handwritten words that tell me she loves me. So my challenge for you this Holiday season is to write a letter filled with words that express your love for someone special. Instead of stressing over buying the perfect gift why not a handwritten letter? The gift of your words might be ones that they treasure for years to come. With love, Kimberly #CHRISTMASWRITINGCHALLENGE
