We present to you a short video representing our first fire and how EVSR responded to such an incident. This video is the first in a series demonstrating EV safety at the track and incident mitigation. EVSR has been racing since 2014 and this fire, from Watkins Glen in August 2020, was our first fire. EVSR remains committed to building and racing electric race cars and stands firmly behind their safety record. You will see that clearly demonstrated in this video (and the o...thers that follow) and again and again you will also see the why behind our battery cell chemistry choice. EVSR would like to thank GWL (https://www.gwl.eu/) for sharing their cell chemistry video clips. #evsr #entropyracing #autoracing #motorsports #evracing #evsafety #gwlprague #gwlpower #lifepo #lithiumiron #battery #calb #calbbatteries #fire #racecarfire #evincidentmitigation #evfire GWL

With the new year comes new opportunities. EVSR is sad to see Jeremy Clemens, our Chief of EV Development, move on to a new role for 2021. Jeremy will be working for Proterra, an electric bus company, and will be moving (along with valued team member Danielle Hobbs) to Orlando, FL. EVSR benefited greatly from Jeremy’s innovations to our wiring processes and could turn a mean wrench to boot! Danielle was the ultimate shop assistant; doing everything from washing tow vehicl...es to powder coating to getting us and keeping us organized. As always, EVSR - Plugging In & Kicking Gas and Entropy.Racing will continue to provide their high level of excellent technical work and their unparalleled customer service. EVSR is on track to complete three more Generation 2 race cars for the 2021 Race Season. 2021 will also bring the opportunity for drivers to rent, lease, or purchase an EVSR. If you are interested in learning more, please contact us at [email protected] You can clearly see from our Guest Driver Interviews on YouTube (link below) how much excitement EVSR generates on the track. Also on the horizon for 2021 is the formation of an EVSR Race Series: EVSR Sports Racing Series (ESRS). More details on this project are forthcoming. EVSR looks forward to a happy, healthy, track-day filled 2021 and wishes you all the same! Guest Driver Interviews: (https://www.youtube.com/playlist)

Does a noisy racecar trick your brain into thinking it's fast as well? EVSR Chief Engineer, Charlie Greenhaus, dispells the myth of sound=speed and addresses the advantages of a quiet race car (EVSR) posesses. COVID-19 hit the 2020 Race Season hard. Revenue loss was felt by tracks and sanctioning bodies alike. EVSR presents some opportunites to tracks for more rentals on days where there are dB limitations or all-out racing restrictions.... Greenhaus also discusses the advantages to the driver of a quiet car: the physical and the competitive.

We are keeping the Orion! After much testing, debate, planning, and thought, the EVSR Team has decided the Orion will be the ultimate EV tow vehicle. Pictured here you can see our final load test with a VW Beetle, a Dodge pick-up, and the trailer itself hitched for travel. The bus performed great! With a combined total test weight of 45,500 pounds (27,000 of that only bus) we have decided this will fit our needs for generators, chargers, battery packs, living space, and the ability to tow our EVSR racecars! Stay tuned for more interior work photos! #evsr #entropyracing #towvehicles #orionbus #orionv #evtowvehicles #toterhomes #motorhomes #towing #racecars #electricracing #autoracing #motorsports

A little early snow up in the Poconos. EVSR took a short respite to a friend of the Team's cabin. For those of you afraid of range, the Tesla pictured traveled approximately 140 miles/2.25 hours and plugged into the cabin charging station upon arrival. EV's can travel to "remote" places (and beat ICE cars on track) and not have any "I ran out of battery" issues. Go test drive an EV of any manufacturer today and see for yourself. ... The future is here. The future is electric. #evsr #entropyracing #electriccars #poconos #evs #electricracing #tesla #batteryrange #autoracing #motorsports #kickgas

Goodbye Nelson, the timing and scoring system in heaven just got a big upgrade. I met Nelson at a PHA event at Summit Point-Jefferson. He answered all of my questions and was always kind. I remember he left a train show to come visit our booth at another event. Nelson was a good person. (Jenn)

After two postponements this year, the Seniors in the Alfred State Motorsports Program got to compete in the 2020 Green Grand Prix at @Watkins Glen International. This year held a little rain for the day, unlike the freezing rain and ice of 2019. Unofficially, Team EVSR was first overall in the Autocross, with the best time posted by student Jameek Smith. We also were the most efficient team over all with unofficial results being EVSR travelled 80 miles, using 15.6 & 16.09 ...KWH respectively for the 2 EVSRs. Effectively, our MPGe was in the high 160s! Enjoy these very enthused and talented students in our short video! Glen Region SCCA SCCA Inc. Today is the Annual Green Grand Prix. The Green Grand Prix Corporation is an educational and competitive event at Watkins Glen International, including the only Official SCCA road rally that promotes entry of all road- legal vehicle types and fuels in North America. Our Road Rally is sponsored by THE DORIS BOVEE MEMORIAL FOUNDATION. Doris Bovee was an environmental enthusiast and our road rally is a tribute to her. TOYOTA is a sponsor as well. In 2019, it was held in Ap...ril and you can see by the "flashback" photos, it was cold and icy. Today's forecast is "A chance of showers, mainly before 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 65. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible." We're pretty sure Charlie, Andrew, and the students of Alfred State Motorsports Program will be happy to be damp versus frozen! #greengrandprix #watkinsglen #toyota #dorisbovee #dorisboveememorialfoundation #alfredstatecollege #motorsports #autoracing #scca #roadrally #autocross #evs #evracing #environment #gogreen

EVSR 11.08.2020

Good Morning and Welcome to a Beautiful Fall Weekend in Pennsylvania! EVSR - Plugging In & Kicking Gas has taken on a NEW project. Over the Winter we are looking to consolidate our tow fleet and our first test dummy is a 2004 Orion V City Bus. This Orion boasts a gigantic four-cylinder Detroit diesel with a five speed Allison automatic. When in service it was able to carry 29 passengers. There is an access lift at the FRONT of the bus and another regular access door midway... to the rear. Our hope is to use the rear portion of the Orion to carry generators (creating a separate sound proof (ish) and ventilated room), all of our chargers, tools, and all the gear EVSR needs for a race weekend. The front portion of the bus will be utilized as a gathering place for drivers, crew, and staff. The first point of business for EVSR was to get a hitch welded on the back by our friends at Fountain Fabrication (Hegins, PA) who does all of our work on the '51 LaFrance. Danielle, Jeremy, and Dale have carefully stripped the interior of the bus (in case we have to put her back together) and Charlie attached a 28' trailer (weighing about 8000#). We will be gradually adding more weight and seeing what the safe limits are for the Orion. We have plenty of steep hills near the shop so that is a bonus You can follow our journey along here on FB or on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/evsr_orionbus/ Stay tuned!
