Despite existing for thousands of years, the first early appearances of the bodhrán drum were featured in paintings from the early nineteenth century, whilst in contemporary culture, the earliest recordings began to appear on the music scene in the 1960s.

Phila Emerald Society 28th Annual Fall Fling with the theme Roaring Twenties was a great hit! Many thanks to The music entertainment Double Trouble, DJ Jimmy Mulholland and DJ Ken Kuhn. And the great turnout of food from Lindinger’s Catering.
A reminder that after you did the #FallBack to #StandardTime this past weekend, you may have forgotten your vehicle and appliance clocks.

The 2020 Emerald Society Fall Fling is...ON! This year's party night theme is "The Roaring 20's" with costumes emphasizing the 1920's: jazz, flappers, zoot suits, prohibition, gangsters and molls, radio, Einstein, Freud, Chaplin, Garbo, Houdini, Jolson, Valentino, Harding, Coolidge, and more. The Fall Fling weekend in Wildwood Crest will only be called off in the event that New Jersey Governor Murphy places a prohibition on such events at some point. If that happens, those with rooms (the two hotels are sold out) will be notified and offered either refunds or a full credit towards their 2021 reservation.
