As my Facebook feed filled with people claiming that "the left" wants to cancel PAW Patrol because there is a police dog, I started writing a post about how peo...ple are more likely to believe a ridiculous lie if they think it came from the "other side". But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that PAW Patrol is actually a really great example of what the "defund the police" movement wants to do. Hear me out here. When there is an emergency in Adventure Bay, the citizens call Rider who then assesses the situation and assigned the correctly specialized pup to the task. The police dog is an important member of the team, but Rider knows that the citizens are better served by specialized pups than a team of generalists. I don't know enough about the potential alternatives to have a good opinion on the real world, but it seems to work ok in Adventure Bay, and now when you hear someone call to defund the police department, you can think less Mad Max and more PAW Patrol.

Another fun night Sunday night working the County Park's Food Stand at Christmas Magic (Rocky Ridge County Park). Made $3400 for the parks last night. Christmas Magic just gets more amazing every year - more lights. Love the trains.

There will be no morning worship at Emmanuel on Sunday, December 22nd. For our "fifth" Sunday (Jesus Has Left the Building) experience, we will spend the evening working the County Parks' Food Stand at Christmas Magic to help raise funds for the Park System. Join us for Christmas Eve at 6:00 PM Tuesday.
