Enon Country Gardens 19.05.2021

We still have some potatoes left from last years harvest available. Well it looks like we might attempt to get started on the market season this Friday at Rogers. Some herbs, perennials, cole crops and some early flowers as well as some tomato plants for those that like to putsy around with them. Hope to see you!!

It was so comforting to here the peepers out for at least a couple of nights before the cold sent them back to their mud holes. The warm spell allowed us to get the large onions in the earliest ever as they came in Wednesday morning. Amish girls came over in the afternoon and we got all 6 cases in before the 1.5 inches of rain Thursday. Perfect Timing to get a good early start!

This the third year of the sand hill cranes returning to our swampy area around the farm. They had been very quiet and elusive this year with only a couple sightings. Today they were seen in my brothers soybean field with the deer and a young chick along their side. This was an old photo from when they were first sited 2 years ago.

An old guy(83) at another greenhouse told me I was getting too old to be crawling around on my knees picking pickles and cucumbers so I'm experimenting with his suggestion. 12 in. Hanging baskets with drip irrigation

Jeremy decided that we were going back in the mum business this year, so we will be planting and setting up irrigation system the next couple of days. You will be able to watch there progress as they are planted in front of the barn.
