Due to Gov. Tom Wolf’s proclamation, the Erie County Convention Center Authority, or Erie Events, will be taking a short-term hibernation. We encourage everyone to stay in and stay safe during these unique times. We look forward to when we will once again be able to Get Up and Go!

In this dire time, the entertainment community of North America, is asking for your support. Live events have been completely halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Because their business is rooted in large group gatherings, they were one of the first industries to be completely shut down (early March) and will be one of the last to return to any operations (well into 2021), let alone restore former prosperity (likely not until 2022 or beyond). The live event industry in North ...America directly employs more than 12 million people and includes hundreds of thousands of businesses with a combined economic impact of over $1 trillion USD. This likely includes someone you know, are close to, or it may even include you. If they do not receive government assistance the live events industry will literally collapse, including all of the people involved. These folks are lighting the country red on September 1st to gain attention for their mission, and you can help. Please support them by visiting WeMakeEvents.org and help us to pass the RESTART Act that will put companies back to work.

ERIE PHILHARMONIC TO POSTPONE MARCH 21 CONCERT Out of an abundance of caution, the combined leadership of the Erie Philharmonic’s Board of Directors, Executive... Director Steve Weiser and Music Director Daniel Meyer has made the decision to postpone the March 21st performance, Rodgers and Hammerstein in Concert, to a TBD date in June at the Erie Insurance Arena. All tickets for March 21st will be honored for the June performance. After consulting with local and national branches of the American Federation of Musicians, as well as local government officials and peer orchestras, we decided this morning that this course of action was the most appropriate to ensure the continued health and safety of our musicians, patrons, staff, volunteers and ushers. In a situation such as this, one cannot be too cautious, stated Music Director Daniel Meyer. The welfare of the community that we serve is paramount to all that we do here at the Erie Philharmonic. We truly are one family and will make it through this time together. Philharmonic leadership is working closely with Erie Events to schedule a new date for this performance in June. For individuals with tickets and season passes to the March 21st concert, please visit eriephil.org/covid19 for more detailed information on amended ticket policies. For concerts starting in September 2020, season subscriptions will go on sale March 16 as planned. Information regarding the season finale performance on April 4th will be forthcoming a final decision on this concert will be made by March 23, 2020. For additional concerts and events in April-May, such as the Bruce Morton Wright Chamber Series, Mac n’ Cheese Fest and Beat Beethoven, we will continue to monitor and explore options. All schedule changes will be communicated via our website, phone calls, email, Facebook and USPS. Rest assured that we are working 24/7 to ensure the safety of everyone who comes in contact with the Philharmonic. We are beyond grateful for the continued support of the community and, as we have said many times before, the only way we make it through trying times such as these is together, as a family. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding - we hope that in these uncertain times you remain both happy and healthy. http://eriephil.org/covid19
