Who is listening as you work from home?
We are surrounded by COVID-19 news and alerts and everyone is concerned about the impact it will have on our families and communities, both financially and health-wise. In this challenging time, many of us have been asking what can we do to help? As we try to answer that question, we have come up with a list of things we can do: Be clean Wash hands often, using hand sanitizer if soap and water are unavailable. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces often (doork...nobs, tables. Counters, etc.) Be safe and responsible Stay home, or at least away from others, particularly large groups. Avoid close contact this prevents spreading illness (it is possible to be infected for up to two weeks before showing symptoms) Wear a mask if you are sick. Be conservative (and considerate of others) Stock up on supplies and staples but leave some for others. Conserve utilities there is likely to be a strain on internet and power grids. Try to limit unnecessary usage (don’t stream 4 different Netflix videos at a time for instance) which will allow those working from home to function more effectively. Donate Donate food consider donating food or money to organizations that help those in need (soup kitchens, Meals on Wheels, etc.) Donate blood blood is greatly needed and young, healthy people should contact the Red Cross and ask how they can help. Be neighborly Help the elderly think about the elderly you know and consider donating food or finding out if they need assistance in other ways. Support local businesses small, local business are in for a tough time as they shut down. Consider buying gift cards to use later or purchasing groceries from the local Asian grocery. Be a responsible business DO NOT use this as an opportunity to raise prices and make more profit. DO use this as an opportunity to provide your skills to help others and keep supply chain open. Look to your competitors as partners.
