Return to Play update: We have all been patiently waiting to see if we will be able to play baseball and softball based on the status of the state and associated restrictions. Here is what we know as of today's update. Adams's County is moving to the green phase on June 12th. Entering the green phase does allow us to begin on field activities but there are still many restrictions and recommendations we as a league need to adhere to. More importantly, we need enough surro...unding leagues to choose to push forward with a season as Fairfield has committed to doing from the beginning of the pandemic. Baseball - The game schedule is being updated with an anticipated start date of June 22nd. Obviously we need enough other teams in order for this to work. Several surrounding leagues have already cancelled their seasons. I should be able to provide a more accurate update by Monday evening. Softball - Our softball teams were set to play in the Chambersburg league this year. Chambersburg Softball League has cancelled their season however, coaches were working towards holding a non-chartered season. Unfortunately that has not gained any traction. Our softball VP is still trying to work something out but it looks like softball will probably not play this year. Again, I will send a definite answer hopefully by next week. This is not an easy message to prepare for you. We are all disappointed yet want to provide any activity we can to our children. If we do move forward there will be many changes to they way we were used to taking to the field and sidelines. I assure you Fairfield Rec will comply to meet CDC guidlines and any additional recommendations set forth by the governing bodies we charter our organization. I will update you as soon as I have definitive information. I have received many of your emails complimenting our hard work and dedication to your children. Today was supposed to be Opening Day. Many of us look forward to this moment as the official kick off to baseball and softball season. While we are sad the fields will be empty today let's make our page shine with pictures of your players. Please feel free to share yours in the comments. We are not giving up hope just yet. Keep your fingers crossed for a summer start!

All organized league and team activities are suspended. We will tentatively resume with practice and field clean-up on March 28. Games are still slated to begin the week of April 13 and Opening Day activities on April 18. The parent meeting will be rescheduled or communicated electronically but there are items we need to distribute to parents in person. Picture dates will also remain the same. Stay tuned for changes or resuming of activities from the league and your coaches. We are all saddened for the interuption of the season but want our children to remain safe and healthy.

Opening Day is right around the corner!! We will be having a Skill Night Friday April 17 and Opening Day Parade will be Saturday April 18. Mark your calendar!! More information coming soon!
