To my loyal patients, During these trying times, we have shown so much strength and perseverance for families and communities. It is a very gratifying sight to see from a small business owner sitting on the sidelines. I first would like to thank our first responders and healthcare professionals that are risking their lives on the frontlines every day so the rest of us can get back to doing what we love to do in the near future. There are going to be a lot of questions in the ...coming days and weeks about how we are going to roll out seeing patients in a safe manner for both my team and my patients. Frankly, we don’t have all of the answers yet as things are very fluid with this invisible enemy. Moving forward we are going to have to change some of our protocols for how we bring patients into our practice so that you and my team feel safe and secure. We are working diligently with the Pennsylvania Department of Health, the office of Governor Wolf and the Pennsylvania Dental Association on the best most effective ways for our patients to be treated for all dental procedures in a safe, comfortable manner. Once we are able, things may feel a little bit strange in the beginning, but I believe as we all adapt, we will feel more comfortable as time goes on. I look forward to seeing all of you as soon as we are able to. Please be patient with us during this time as we still are not sure when we will be able to reopen completely. We are and will remain open to see certain dental emergencies during this time. Please do not hesitate to call with any questions. Stay Safe, Stay Healthy, Dr. Andolino

: In a joint effort to alleviate the COVID-19 impact on both the general public as well as our dental team, the ADA and the PDA has recommended that dentists postpone elective procedures for the next three weeks. We appreciate your patience and understanding with our need at this time to prioritize dental emergencies ONLY to help redirect dental emergency burdens from area hospitals. We are available with any questions or reassurance you may need regarding your oral healthcare. If you have a dental emergency, our team will evaluate your condition and decide a course of action. We will be monitoring and updating the general public accordingly with any changes from the CDC and ADA/PDA’s recommendations. We thank you for choosing us as your trusted dental team. Stay healthy, stay safe!

Children learn by watching adults. Lead by example and show your children that the dentist and oral hygiene can be easy and fun! http://ow.ly/7RyX30gl6yh

Tooth Tip Tuesday! Flossing is the most effective, preventative, and proactive approach our patients can take towards their oral health. Yet, more than a quarter (27 percent) of U.S. adults admit they lie to their dentist about flossing their teeth. http://ow.ly/69bv30fOqS6

Be mindful with Halloween that some candy can be worse than others. Avoid hard candies and sweets that will stay in your mouth for longer periods of time. The longer candy stays in your mouth, the more harmful it is for your teeth and with prolonged use it will speed up tooth decay and lead to more cavities.

Save the Halloween candy for after mealtime. The saliva in your mouth increases when you eat and lowers the amount of acid caused by bacteria in your mouth allowing you rinse down that sugary candy with less harmful effects. http://ow.ly/tA7I30fOtkZ

Have cavities, flings, caps or crowns? Avoid those sticky candies you love so much such as taffy, chews, gummy bears and others. You can yank a filling right out of its cavity pretty easy when you at these candies.

Tooth Tip Tuesday! Eat your vegetables because they are loaded with Vitamin A which helps strengthens tooth enamel, preventing cavities and decay. Strong teeth means less cavities. Pair that with routine visits to Fairview Dental Arts for a winning combination!
