While today she is hurting, remember who she is and what she stands for. Fly the American Flag that my brothers/sisters and I are wearing everyday on our shoulders overseas. The flag that beat back the largest Army in the world at that time and gave us freedom from a tyrannical king. The flag that reunified a broken country and held the line, stopping slavery. The one that flew when we stopped the Nazi war machine from taking over the world and liberated Europe. The one that hung damp in the jungles of Vietnam and froze in the mountains of Korea to prevent communism from spreading its misery further. The flag that was placed in NYC on the ruins of the twin towers, the pentagon, and placed lonely in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania after the 9/11 attacks. The flag that hung in the burning heat of Iraq, and the high mountain peaks of Afghanistan. The flag that stood stoic after being the ONLY flag planted on the surface of the moon. I have seen it lay over the coffins of my friends. I have folded it and handed it to the widows of my former brothers. The flag stands for Freedom and Liberty.
