Update! Roxie has been found!
1/14 Edit : unfortunately, due to growing COVID concerns, we have been forced to cancel our clean up day. This has been an annual event for years, so we are extremely sad to do so. As soon as we are permitted, we will reschedule this clean up. Stay tuned for information and thank you to those that had planned to help out. Stay safe everyone! CANCELED... Please join us on Monday, January 18th, for our annual Martin Luther King Jr clean up day. The best way to honor this man is love and togetherness. Clean up will be 10am-12pm. Come dressed warm and ready to go, as we will be cleaning the park grounds outside. We ask for as many volunteers as possible to come out and show their care for the park.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Thank you to the Juniata Park Civics Association for providing the neighborhood with a little extra holiday joy this year.
We hope everyone is enjoying the snow and staying safe!
Please consider donating the the Philadelphia Parks Alliance. They have done so much to help not only us at Ferko, but Rec Centers all over the city.
Our season may have started late and ended early because of COVID quarantine. We lost a week because of safety measures taken due to civil unrest. Our daily dynamic was certainly different, but every Tuesday and Thursday ended in smiles. We are extra thankful for this season, no matter how short it was. Thank you to all the families that joined us this season in the midst of everything. Thank you to our three coaches who worked so hard for the kids and made sure they always had fun. We look forward to seeing you all back next season! Stay safe and #MaskUpPhilly
Student food sites starting again on September 3rd. Juniata Park Academy is a food site that will be distributing on Thursdays from 9-12. Student ID # is required but students does not need to be present. Adults 55 and older can pick up 5 meals per week from the Juniata Park Older Adult Center as well.
The Peace Love Impact is having a back to school give a way this Saturday. Stop by for some supplies for this upcoming school.
We are so grateful to everyone who came out in Saturday to help us with our clean-up day. Those that volunteered to come out worked hard to gather nearly 80 bags of leaves and trash. Thank you for helping us show love to the park! Thank you so much to the Parks Alliance for partnering with us to not only bring volunteers, but also supplying us with necessary supplies and breakfast for everyone. We look forward to the next clean-up day and working together for a change.
This summer was a little strange and different from all the rest. Much less kids and no trips, but we still had a blast. Thank you to all the families who joined us this year. Thank you for trusting us with your kids this year in the midst of everything going on. Thank you to the kids for working with us and follow all the rules we had to put in place. Thank you to the staff that helped take every measure possible to keep ourselves and the kids stay safe and healthy. We will miss everyone and hopefully we see you guys sooner rather than later.
Join us on Saturday!
After back to back brackets in our daylong tournament, our two air hockey champions competed in the Ferko Cup. Congratulations to Ellie!
Snakes got loose in the building this week.
Despite the heat on Friday, the kids enjoyed our nature walk on the Tacony Creek Trails. Our camp definitely lucks out to have these trails close by.
