Fired Up Dichroic Designs

Here's an example of a pendant with a channel in between the layers of glass. A special material is used to create this channel. The glass fuses around it, and it is later removed so that a chain can be threaded though.

These earring cabs were made with 5 pieces of glass each. Four small 1/4" squares on the bottom, and a clear 1/2" square piece on top to "cap" it. The heat of the kiln (1,550 degrees) turns the square pieces into a solid, round cabochon.

Finished pendant - just got the special-sized bails today.

I used tweezers to place these small pieces of glass into the casting mold. They fused together beautifully!
