Here it is folks the 2021 Hegins Valley Fire-Rescue Carnival poster. Keep a watch out they will be hitting The Valley and surrounding areas in the next couple d...ays. I would like to send a big THANK YOU out to all our sponsors for this years event. Without you guys we could not pull this off. We are always looking for volunteers the week of the carnival. If you could just give a hour of your time to flip some burgers or help in any of our other stands that would be great. Just because it is Carnival week does not mean the fire calls stop. Haze in the Pitman Valley too.

Everyone who comes to our firehouse is greeted by this man, our best public relations representative George Saltzman- If you don't know the name you know the face and can pick out the laugh a mile away. He has been an active member both firefighter and reg volunteer work at the Mahantongo Fire Company for over 40 years! Many invaluable traits have been passed down throughout the years not only to the members of the fire company but to his sons as well. All three of his son...s grew up at the fire house. Randy currently serves the community as Captain. James has almost ten years serving as Chief. He is family to everyone at the firehouse. The picture shown is from 2018 of his 35 plus years of service award. He is pictured with James, Randy and Assistant Chief 1 (a non biological son) Andrew. George has had some unexpected medical problems that have arisen in the last 2 weeks or so. He will be a frequent flyer at Geisinger for awhile. Prayers and well wishes are requested! He is always making other people smile! Can we make him smile now? He is not on facebook but if you would like to leave a comment to him on here we will make sure he sees them. 548 wildfires burning about 1,000 acres have been reported so far in 2021, damaging 21 structures, causing 8 injuries, and 2 fatalities. This is double PA’s 10-...year average for this time of year. April is a peak month for wildfires in the state due to warm, dry, and windy days prior to greening of trees and other vegetation. Please help prevent wildfires by not starting outdoor fires on dry and windy days this spring. #PAWildfire

If you do not receive a call as you have in previous years ple...ase do not be alarmed that you were removed from a list. If you already purchased an item you may still bring it to the fire house and we will use it for the next event. **IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT** The Mahantongo Fire Company is suspending our online raffles at this time. We have changed all of the prizes to unavailable online. We are in the process of gathering totals and making lists of names of those who have already purchased tickets. We will pull the raffles with the number of tickets that are sold to date. ... For example- if there are 15 tickets that sold for the raffle we will put 15 tickets in the bucket and pull from that. We will pull the names live on facebook this coming Wednesday at 7pm We apologize for any inconvenience. The raffles must stop due to circumstances out of our control.
