COVID 19 Information - fb
Location: Liberia Event: The U.S. Embassy in Monrovia has no greater priority than the safety and security of U.S. citizens. We have received numerous reques...ts for repatriation flights to the United States, and our team is working tirelessly to identify transportation options for U.S. citizens seeking to return to the United States. At this time, there is no confirmed flight, but availability may be announced on short notice. If a flight becomes available, prior to boarding, all confirmed passengers must sign a promissory to reimburse the U.S. government approximately $1,300 per person for the cost of the flight at a later date. No cash or credit card payments will be accepted. If you are a U.S. citizen (or a lawful permanent resident who has not been out of the United States for more than year and has a valid green card) who is ready now to return to the United States and who has not yet come to the Embassy to sign a promissory note, you should print and complete page one (only) of the promissory note and bring it to the Embassy on Monday, April 6, at 10:00 AM along with your passport (and green card if applicable). The promissory note is available at https://eforms.state.gov/Forms/ds5528.PDF. All U.S. Citizens who are outside the United States should enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). You will receive an automated email confirming your enrollment from the STEP program. If flights become available, the U.S. Embassy in Monrovia will contact all Americans enrolled in STEP with further information including details on costs. Only passengers who receive an email confirming a seat on a flight or confirming standby status should proceed to the airport if a flight is announced.
