Prayer of the week of January 31, 2021 But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. [Luke 6: 27-28] Holy Spirit,... You are our counselor, healer, and friend. You are the one sent to live with and be in those who believe. In believing, we realize that you are in your Father, and that through your Holy Spirit we are in you and you in us. It is your Holy Spirit that brings us lifethe same life that you demonstrated through your resurrection. [John 14: 19-20] We need not fear this life or the one to come, because you are with us. Your love overcomes all our fear and doubt. After sin entered the world, life here means a struggle against allowing darkness to have a place. There are missionaries around the world who desire to share the light and hope you offer. There are many Christians persecuted around the world for endeavoring to live their lives to display your Good News. But, even in our everyday living, we need your presence to hold darkness away. It is not easy to love those who hate us, to bless those who curse us, and to pray for those who abuse us. That is how you tell us to live, which is only possible by relying on the Holy Spirit you have placed within us. You tell us to offer up supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings for all people, and tell us this is pleasing in your sight. [1 Timothy 2: 1-3] You know how often our flesh is weak! [Matthew 26: 40-41] You want us to pray for others who have faith in you and because of the love we have for one another. You want these prayers to give thanks for one another. We pray for one another that we will be filled with the knowledge of your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that we can walk in a manner worthy of you, LORD, fully pleasing to you, bearing fruit in every good work and gaining in our knowledge of you. We ask for one another, especially for missionaries around the world, that we be strengthened with power, in accord with your glorious might, that we may endure in all things with patience and joy, and give thanks to you who through your sacrifice qualified us to share in your heavenly kingdom. [Ephesians 1: 15-18; Colossians 1: 3-12] Today, I specifically pray for:__________________________ All the earth shouts for joy to you LORD. We worship you with gladness and come before you with joyful songs. We know that you are God-the One who made usand that we are yours, your people and the sheep of your pasture. We enter your gates with thanksgiving and your courts with praise, giving thanks to you and praising your name. You, LORD, are good and your love and faithfulness endure forever to all generations. [Psalm 100] You are the One in whose name, Jesus, we pray. For yours are the kingdom, the power and the glory forever. AMEN.

Prayer for the week of November 1, 2020 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. They called out in a loud voice, ‘How long, Sovereign LORD, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?’ Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and broth...ers who were to be killed as they had been was complete. [Revelation 6: 9-11] Mighty Conqueror, This week we remember all our fellow Christian saints who have passed from this life to eternal life with you. We thank you for the fervor with which those in the past have shared their faith. I remember with thanks those you have placed in my life to teach & encourage me in the faithwho have been diligent at planting seeds. You told us in Matthew 16:24b-26: If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? In 2019 there were 2,983 Christians killed for faith in you & 3,711 believers detained without trial: arrested, sentenced or imprisoned. Today there are 260 million Christians who live in places where they experience high levels of persecution. [From OpenDoorUSA] We plead with you to be with those who are suffering persecution for the faith; through the presence of your Holy Spirit, please encourage them & give them strength, comfort & peace. Help them to be aware of your presence with them & that others are praying for them. LORD, you will have the final victory. You tarry only to allow the full measure of saints to join your kingdom. You desire that all people be saved & come to knowledge of the truth. [1 Timothy 2: 4] But salvation requires a response! We are told in Romans 10: 9-10: if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is LORD and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. We pray for those who are working to share the faith with those who are lost. Forgive me for my complacency. Please help me be one of those who is bold in sharing my faith in you with others. We will praise you, O LORD, among the nations; we will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, & let your glory be over all the earth. [Psalm 108: 3-5] For yours is the kingdom & the power & the glory now & forever. In your great name, Jesus, we pray. AMEN.

He is our praise! The God who parted the Red Sea and supplied manna to the Israelites in the wilderness is also the God who did the most amazing miracles in us he has turned our selfish hearts to do his will and turned our lives to do his eternal work in the world. Then, after doing those things in us, he has gifted us and empowered us to do those things he has placed in our hearts. He is our praise, the One we worship and the One who makes us worthy worshipers!

Job 21: 23-26 NLT -- Rich or poor, healthy or not. One person dies in prosperity, completely comfortable and secure, the picture of good health, vigorous and fit. Another person dies in bitter poverty, never having tasted the good life. But both are buried in the same dust, both eaten by the same maggots.

Prayer for the week of October 25, 2020 When the crowds saw this, they were awestruck & said: Praise be you God the Giver of such authority to men. [Matthew 9: 8-9]... Jesus, our Savior, As you walked the earth, you displayed God’s glory & power through your word & touch by working miracles. Those who were blessed by your miracles responded by giving glory to God. [Luke 7: 16; 18: 43, etc.] When you sent out the 12 [Luke 9], You gave them power & authority to expel demons & to cure diseases as they proclaimed your Kingdom. And then, you sent out 70 disciples, telling them that when they were welcomed, they were to heal the sick & tell them the Kingdom of God is near. [Luke 10] One of the ways you reveal your kingdom to us is by healing. We pray that your Holy Spirit’s healing power will work in the lives of: __________, ____________, __________, _______________, ______________, __________________. We pray that Christian counselors: __________, ___________, ____________, _____________, will be given discernment & supernatural wisdom to reach those you send their way for encouragement & healing. We praise you that even in the midst of COVID-19 your signs & wonders are in evidence in the schools all around us. Especially at this time so near the election, we pray for our election process & the candidates. We pray that, if they do not have a saving relationship with you, you would continue drawing them to you. We pray asking that your will be done! You are still today the God of miracles for you are the same yesterday, today & forever. [Hebrews 13: 8] Forgive us when we are taken in by the world & lose faith in your power & authority. Help us to trust you more fully. Help us to forgive others for the ways they sin against us. Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens & earth by your great power & outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you. You show love to thousands but bring the punishment for the fathers’ sins into the laps of their children after them. O great & powerful God, whose name is the LORD Almighty, great are your purposes & mighty are your deeds. Your eyes are open to the ways of men; you reward everyone according to his conduct & as his deeds deserve. You performed miraculous signs & wonders in Egypt & have continued them to this day, both in Israel & among all mankind, & have gained the renown that is yours. [Jeremiah 32: 17-20] For yours is the kingdom & the power & the glory now & forever. In your great name, Jesus, we pray. AMEN.

Whether you attend in person or watch the live-stream, take a few moments and begin your worship by praying for the worship service about to begin. But the time is comingindeed it is here nowwhen the true worshippers will worship the Father spiritually and truly, for these are the kind of people the Father wants worshipping him. God is spirit; and worshippers must worship him spiritually and truly. [John 4: 23-24] LORD Jesus,... You live! We praise & exalt you-our Rock, the Rock of our salvation! [2 Samuel 22:47] We will praise your name, God, with song, and shall magnify you with thanksgiving. [Psalm 69:30] May we enter Your gates with thanksgiving, and Your courts with praise. Give thanks to You; bless Your name. [Psalm 100:4] As we prepare for worship today, we ask that the Holy Spirit reveal your presence during the service. As we attend worship today, may we come seeking you & offering up high praise & exalted worship. Make the worship leaders & pastor sensitive to how the Holy Spirit is working in the lives of those who are present. We pray that your Spirit will convict each of us of our sin, that our hearts will be stirred, & that we will break free from captivity. We pray for those providing music, touch them so that praises are lifted to your heavenly throne. May those who do not know you as LORD & Savior come to a saving relationship with you. May those who came with doubts or apathy find assurance of your presencefinding hope & healing. Help all who are present possess a hunger for you, a forgetfulness of time & an uninhibited expression of love for you displayed with reverence. Praise be to you, O LORD, God of our Father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Yours, O LORD, is the greatness & the power & the glory & the majesty & the splendor, for everything in heaven & earth is yours. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. Wealth & honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength & power to exalt & give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, & praise your glorious name. [1 Chronicles 29: 10-13] In your great name, JESUS, we pray. Amen.
