Stop by the library at 6 pm with a plant to swap! Succulents, vegetable plants, annuals, perennials...all are welcome. We just request they are healthy!

Be the Change is the only nonpartisan and free civic engagement app that connects Pennsylvanians to their PA General Assembly members to take meaningful action on legislative issues. With Be the Change, you can quickly share details on poor air quality, lack of public transportation, isolated food deserts, House or Senate bills, and much more. After sharing your thoughts and feedback, you’ll receive a direct action or response from Senator Judy Schwank. Don't want to post? Y...ou can still scroll through the public feed to see nearby Community Causes, learn about various issues, and organize around shared concerns with your neighbors to build healthier and safer communities! On Be the Change you'll also access summaries on legislation, interviews with legislators, and short article explainers on current PA policy debates. The world is rapidly changing and so are the methods we use to advocate for legislative change. Authentic advocacy should be safe, simple, and personal. You can Be the Change by visiting ChangeOurState.com or finding Be the Change in the Apple App Store! #PAForward #CivicandSocialLiteracy #DriveFleetwoodForward #FleetwoodLibrary

We are thrilled that one of our Middle School patrons won the Berks County Bar Association's 2021 Law Day Multimedia Competition after one of our librarians gave her family a flyer and suggested that she might want to enter. Connecting patrons to opportunities in the community is one of the many ways that Libraries serve their patrons.

No Ms. Stacy is not talking to her iPad. She is talking to Mrs. Maloney’s 2nd grade class at Andrew Maier. A new service we are offering to the Fleetwood Area School District is virtual tours of the new library. Students are taking virtual field trips to the Fleetwood Library so they can see all the amazing resources available to them. Are you a teacher in the Fleetwood School District and want to take your students on a virtual field trip to the library? Email Ms. Stacy at [email protected]

We are saddened to share that Beverly Cleary, one of the most beloved children’s books authors of all time, passed away yesterday, March 25, at 104 years old. ... Looking back, Beverly would often say, ‘I’ve had a lucky life,’ and generations of readers count themselves lucky, toolucky to have the very real characters she created, including Henry Huggins, Ramona and Beezus Quimby, and Ralph S. Mouse, as true friends who helped shape their growing-up years. https://bit.ly/3lTZovk

This week at the Fleetwood Library... Also we ARE open this morning (for now). A note about snow emergencies and closings. We don't always follow the school district. When in doubt ALWAYS call the library to make sure we are there. Make sure a human answers the phone! We have an automated message that is difficult to change on a weekly basis. So even if the robot librarian tells you we are open, make sure a human librarian answers the phone! Happy Monday! Stay safe and stay warm.

Due to continued precipitation and reports of slippery road conditions, we will remain closed Friday. We would like to give Borough employees time and space to clean up and make our streets, parking lot, and walkways safe for our patrons. We will open Saturday morning at 10am. All items that were due today will be pushed to tomorrow.

On the second day being stuck at home my library gave to me....books on Libby!! As a parent Libby is a lifesaver y’all. I can listen to my own book while doing laundry, cleaning, cooking dinner, or out for a walk. When we hop in the car I can easily switch over to my son’s book and we listen to a book together. You can download the Libby app on just about any device for free. Then quickly login by choosing Reading Public Library and enter your library card number and pin. (...Pin is usually the last four digits of your phone number. Give us a call if you have trouble logging in) Bonus! You can now access the Overdrive Catalog from Wyomissing Public Library as well! Go to Add a Library and search for Wyomissing Public Library and open it. Then go to see library cards. Tap Add a Card, then I’m Visiting From Another Library choose Reading Public Library and sign in!
