PERENNIALS..PERENNIALS..PERENNIALS!!! Over 300 varieties, days of work, trailering 100 into the yard at a time, 45 trailers later, 60 ten foot long tables filled...you won't find a better selection of perennials and quality of plant material anywhere else. Yarrow, columbine, coreopsis, foxglove, geum, juncus, blue fescue, hostas, german iris, russian sage, sedum, ajuga, lady's mantle, coneflower, daylily, coralbells(heuchera), hardy geranium, shasta daisy, beebalm, creeping ...phlox, blackeyed susan, sage, veronica, foam flower, dianthus, bleeding heart, sweet woodruff, allium, baby's breath, candy tuft, creeping jenny, catmint, scabiosa, spiderwort, astilbe, joe pye weed, foxglove, helleborus, lobelia, lupine, and I am sure I forgot somebody. With over 5000 one gallon size perennial plants to pick from and more to be added in the coming weeks....it is worth the trip to the farm. We also got in clematis vine, honeysuckle vine, boston ivy vine and hydrangea vine in large #3 pots and already staked. It's going to be a beautiful, sunny Saturday so take a drive and come see us. ROUND TWO - today we got over 3,000 new perennials and 2,000 new shrubs in....but the temperatures are iffy and the wind might die down to 5 miles an hour....frost could lay....so we covered over 40 tables and all the new shrubs too. You gotta love it. Tomorrow, I will try and post all the new varieties of perennials we have....some are blooming and the hostas are leafing out. Have a good night and stay warm.

NOW IT'S JUST HAVING FAITH THAT THE TARPS HOLD.....we put all the plants we could under cover and now we wait. Hoping the wind will blow at least 10 miles an hour to help keep the frost from laying. Real feel temperatures by 9am are not out of the mid 20's....so excuse us if we don't uncover until late morning. You gotta love this life as much as we do to spend 2 hours tucking everyone in. FREEZE WARNING - after midnight tonight... until 9am tomorrow (Thursday) morning. Any tender plants like annuals or vegetables that you have outside bring into your garage or basement to protect from the freezing temperatures and frost. If you have already planted them in the ground, throw sheets over them or plastic bottles to protect the foliage. We will be covering flowering shrubs and the perennial tables with tarps and frost cloths to protect the blooms from the frost. ...If you just planted perennials and shrubs and trees.... the plants will be fine you just might lose the flowers if you do not cover. Fruit tree blossoms must be covered or you could lose your fruit crop if the frost damage is severe enough to destroy the flowers. Foliage Farm motto: when in doubt...cover!! JAPANESE MAPLES - we still have a good selection of weeping and upright varieties.....best part.....they are on sale. One of the most stunning grafted trees we sell is the LIMELIGHT HYDRANGEA TREE. It is 'made' by grafting the shrubform of limelight hydrangea onto a 2 to 2.5 foot tall trunk. This tree form of the limelight hydrangea will grow to about 10 ft high. Easy to trim and shape without ever messing up the flowering and we will teach you how.
