Visible house numbers are important! Early this morning Forks Fire was dispatched to assist EMS for forceable entry to access a patient who could not open the door. Fire arrived prior to EMS and first house we encountered had no house number on it. There were four mailboxes grouped together on this small street. After a few minutes of searching we were able to locate the home needing assistance since a number was visible at the front door. Please make sure your house number is clearly visible from the street for first responders. It may save a life. (Image is not the house number we responded to).

Reminder to steer clear of Emergency Vehicles operating at emergency scenes. One of our neighboring companies was hit this morning. We are glad to hear no firefighters or anyone else was injured. Slow down and give us room to live. We all want to go home after the call.

As you know, last week, we had to STOP doing online raffles, due to other fire departments facing fines due to the way they were done. So, starting Monday Novenber 9th from 5 to 7 PM, we have our firefighters at the station selling the rest of the chances for this TV. We are still doing this the same way as prior raffles, but you need to come to the station to buy your chance...s because we can only do cash or check as payment. Each chance is $15.00, so come by and support the fire department. If you get there early you will be able to see the new Tower Ladder up close. Forks Township your new ladder truck is Tower 2521. The volunteers are excited about its arrival and we have posted pictures here earlier. Now we want to provide you some details of the new truck. This new truck, replacing our 24-year-old 75’ ladder truck, gives us better reach, capabilities, speed of set up and a safer platform for us to work off. It is a Pierce Ascendant 100'Heavy-Duty Aerial Mid Mount Tower. Capable of reaching heights of 100' vertically and 93' hor...izontally with its five-section heavy-duty steel tower. A low overall height of 10'9" and length under 42'. Its 160" rear overhang minimizes tail-swing, offering superior maneuverability. Tower 2521 has seating for six fire fighters. Its integrated ground pads eliminate time spent throwing ground pads, so setup is streamlined and much faster than our 75’ retired ladder. As configured, it outperforms with a 1,000 lb tip load capacity dry and 500 lbs wet, up to 20-degree below grade operation, and a 50-degree scrub area. All at a mere 20' setback from the building. We had a private dedication service, due to COVID 19 restrictions, on Saturday 24 October for the Fire Department members and the Township Board of Supervisors. At the dedication ceremony the fire company members lead by Chief Russo and Chaplain Keady took a moment for reflection of re-dedication of service to our community, dedication of the truck and a thank you to the Board of Supervisors and Residents for purchasing of the Tower. The dedication ended with the tradition of the first push back of the apparatus. Yesterday morning prior to arrival of the new truck we responded to an single vehicle MVA in Stockertown with 50 EMS & Stockertown PD. EMS 50 transported one patient to the hospital.
