Forks Township Police Department

Traffic Alert: A private contractor has installed a speed bump on Winchester Drive between Lenape and Sheffield. Please keep this in mind in your travels.

There’s been a lot of activity on one of the local Facebook groups regarding an attempted break in in the township, rightfully causing lots of concern. Police investigated a call in the area of Oak Tree/Dogwood/Paul Eaton for suspicious activity involving individuals who were heard running down the caller’s driveway in the early morning hours. Police did not locate anyone upon their arrival. While no break in was observed, the presence of someone on private property at that hour is alarming. We ask that people remain vigilant and not hesitate to call should they observe something suspicious.

There seems to be confusion about ATV and snowmobile use on roadways. There is currently no emergency declaration that allows those vehicles to be operated on our roads. Please keep them confined to private property so that our road crew can safely do their jobs.

With the forecast of 1-2 inches of rain today and overnight tonight, there is a good chance of flooding in the usual areas. If you are traveling tomorrow please avoid these areas. Thank you and Merry Christmas!

As you all can guess Zucksville road is closed at Maple Ave. Bushkill Drive is closed between kesslersville and Northwood. 611 is closed between danser hill and Frutchey hill.

To all Forks Township Residents Due to an overnight motor vehicle accident, Sullivan Trail will be closed between Uhler Rd. and Church Lane. A utility pole was heavily damaged, causing the closure in the 4300 block of Sullivan Trail. Please plan accordingly for your morning travels.

Frutchey Hill Road is open! After several years of being closed, the roadwork is now complete and the roadway is open. The township public works department deserves special recognition for this project. The work was completed in-house at a significant savings to taxpayers. When you see them, make sure you thank them for a job well done!

You may notice that our Police force will be a little hairy for the next few months! Our annual fundraising event has begun. Officers donate to be exempt from facial hair regulations, and the money is collected and donated to a worthy cause.
