George Patterson 1845-1923 George Patterson came from Scotland with his parents in 1849 and they settled in Frankford. At age 16 he enlisted in the 8th Pennsyl...vania Cavalry as a bugler. He served in Gettysburg under General Gregg. He was a fine musician who continued to perform for the rest of his life and sounded "Taps" at many memorial services. SEPTA has made promises about development at the Frankford Transportation Center. Press Conference on Monday, April 26, 11am, corner of Frankford and Pratt. The Philadelphia2035 Plan, developed in 2011 with community input stated that FTC would be an ideal location for a new health center. Hello all! The food pantry at St. Mark's Church will be distributing pre-packed grocery bags from our parking lot beginning at 9am until 10:30am (or supplies la...st). No ID needed, all are welcome. Come as you are but please wear a mask and observe social distancing. Afterward, beginning at noon, 15th PDAC will be serving brown bag meals to go beginning at noon from our Courtyard gate on Frankford Ave. Our friends in service over at The Ray of Hope Project will be distributing children's coats and large food boxes at Faith Assembly of God church on Margaret Street from 10-12:30. Please feel free to share this post with anyone who may be in need.

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter266 will be holding their annual name reading at the memorial on Saturday Oct. 24 at 12 noon. It is also the 33rd anniversary of the memorial. The memorial is located at Front and Spruce Sts. Please come out to show your respect for the 648 men and women from Philadelphia who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam.
