Someone decided to lay the drama on a bit thick at the dog park this afternoon : @rbritch
Orianna Hill needs some assistance with snow removal. For any neighbors interested in helping, we have some shovels out behind our bulletin board in the dog run. (To our neighbors: pardon the delay in clearing the sidewalks. Our usual snow removal company did not come out this time and is not answering their phones.)
Bring your naked tree (no plastic, tinsel, ornaments, or wire, please!) to be chipped and used as groundcover at the dog run.

Staying safe at the park means being extra cautious right now. EVERYONE at the park should be masked at all times, and people should maintain distance from each other and each others' dogs. The Board has been aware of a higher than usual level of incidents between dogs recently: we suspect it's because we are all at least a little tense and unhappy lately and our dogs pick up on that anxiety. Please play it extra safe pay close attention to your dog and end questionable int...eractions early, if only to make sure that you can maintain distance from other people! There should not be more than 10 people in the park at a time. If you can avoid peak times, please do so that others who can't avoid those times have access. All our members, human and canine, are important to us. Let's keep everyone safe. **If you or your dog are involved in an incident, we appreciate you filling out an incident report at www.oriannahill.org While the park takes no responsibility for any incidents that occur there, we can help put humans in touch with one another and it's useful to track if there are repeat occurrences.

To whoever left this frisbee at the dog park: I hecking love you : @_crickstagram
We encourage EVERYONE to stay involved with the park although this year obviously hasn't been a good one for workdays, etc., there are always things to do to keep our park the best it can be. Most importantly, we appreciate everyone advocating for responsible use of the park with everyone they see. If necessary, remind others to wear a mask, always pay attention to and pick up after their dog, and register any dog before bringing it to the park. Stay safe, all, and we look forward to being able to gather safely again soon.

Thanks to everyone who came out for Orianna Hill's cleanup and mulching today. Our 5-person shift system worked well along with our COVID-19 procedures. We ran out of steam, however, and there is some mulch spreading that remains. We left two wheelbarrows, pitchforks, and rakes out. If you happen to be at the park and could help by spreading mulch towards the dirt piles, we would very much appreciate it.
3 loads spread, one to go! Even if you didn’t sign up, we’d happily take your effort for this last push ...
On Saturday, August 15, 2020 from 8-2 Orianna Hill will have a park cleanup and mulching of the dog run. In light of COVID-19, we are asking that volunteers utilize the following link to register. We are having volunteers come out in two-hour windows on Saturday. We are requiring masks and will provide tools/plastic gloves. Volunteers will have their own shovel and rake, which only they may use. At the end of each session--and for those who want to at the beginning of each s...ession--clorox wipes will be provided to wipe down the handle surfaces of all tools. Please click on the following web link (or copy it into your web browser if clicking doesn't work) to go to the signup sheet: volunteersignup.org/3TYF9 To sign up, just follow the instructions on the page. It only takes a few seconds to do. Thank you!

All: I am requesting assistance from neighbors to identify a person and/or their dog involved in an incident at Orianna Hill Park in the evening on Tuesday, May 5. Per an incident report filed with the Board, shortly after a neighbor arrived at the park a large, 90-100 lb, black, flat-coated retriever charged at her dog. The reporting-neighbor intervened in an attempt to prevent an altercation. Unfortunately, both her and her dog sustained serious injuries. ... We understand that the owner of the other dog did not intervene to assist, identify themselves as the owner of the dog, provide contact information to the injured owner, or leave the park following the altercation. At this time, we do not believe that the other owner, or their dog, is registered with Orianna Hill. These are all violations of Orianna Hill's rules and regulations (see https://oriannahill.org/ark-rules ). The reporting-neighbor informed us of other, recent altercations with this owner and their dog. Additional information suggests that this owner may also have a smaller, black, flat-coated retriever. This second dog is described as sweet and friendly. If you have information concerning the offending owner/dog, please send a direct message to Orianna Hill's Facebook account, which can be found here: https://m.facebook.com//Friends-of-Orianna-Hill-Park-2743/ The Board takes these incidents and the park rules seriously as they are critical to ensuring the safety of our community, both human and canine. We will use this as a further opportunity to emphasize the importance of registering your dog, attending the required orientation for new members, and reviewing the aforementioned rules and regulations for the park. You can register your dog and obtain additional information from our website: www.oriannahill.org I will also emphasize the importance of reporting incidents to the Board. Incident reports are how we track altercations, identify offending owners/dogs, and take appropriate, responsive action(s). When incidents go unreported, it limits our ability to take corrective action. You can report incidents through the following link: https://oriannahill.org/ark-rules/incident-report I ask that neighbors and page members please do NOT speculate concerning the incident, potential owners, etc. in the comments on this post. Sincerely, Friends of Orianna Hill Board of Directors
A reminder from the park that we (sob) need to distance from each other's dogs as well as from each other. . . while dog fur isn't considered a GREAT vector for the virus, it's still a surface, and a dog that runs from one person to another for pets and love can absolutely carry droplets that way. We continue to think that the park is a critical resource to get ourselves and our furry friends through this social isolation period, but we need to be sure we're doing everyth...ing we can to keep it as safe as possible. Wear a mask at the park, social distance from other humans, and don't pet dogs other than your own. If you're still feeling unsure about that, this reminder came from a household of an ICU nurse and an ER doctor who need the park to keep their dog exercised on the very short breaks they have from saving lives. YOUR behavior at the park is allowing them to keep working and stay safe.
