Today is the day. While we likely won't have a clear winner by the end of the night, we are ALL winners for having gotten this far. Join myself and State Representative Brian Sims today @ 12pm as we discuss the importance Pennsylvania will play in this election and go over early voting details and polls. #VOTE #BidenHarris2020 #wegotthis
I’ll be going LIVE today @ 12pm with John Culhane, a professor of Constitutional Law and LGBTQ law to answer questions relating to the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court, solidifying a conservative court for an entire generation. Everyone has questions about what the future holds and while it’s unclear, the one thing everyone can do is be as educated as possible about how to protect ourselves, our families, and our community and who better to do that wi...th than a law professor! Join John and myself at 12pm today and if you haven’t already, submit your question here or you can do so live in the comments: https://forms.gle/hneRZkG96Sn7VNbU7
I'll be going live tomorrow @ 12pm and every Tuesday thereafter up to and through the election (and likely more often based on the amount of questions we've received!) answering your questions. We'll discuss things you can do to protect your families, the appointment of Amy Coney Barrett, the upcoming election and whatever else you may have questions about. I'm being joined by Gregg Schoenberg, the Co-Founder of Vote Him Out - a nonprofit aptly named after its mission!
Answering your questions and preparing for the reality we face. From protecting our families through estate planning to the appointment of Amy Coney Barrett, the election, and more.
ATTENTION: We moved offices, but we're still in the #gayborhood! Our new office address is located at 1221 Locust Street Ste 202. Read more here: https://giampololaw.com/we-moved/
This article was published on June 1, the first day of Pride Month, but I wanted to re-share it as we start rounding out of Pride Month. We have had a Pride Month to remember - full social and legal change, revolution and uprising, REAL dialogue and all while living through a global pandemic. The social revolution that transpired during this Pride Month is nowhere near "over" so while June is coming to an end, we must stay vigilant to the task at hand and continue fighting with the same fervor to end systemic racism and for equality for all.
Thank you so much Chris!
It is important to stay up-to-date regarding the latest rules and recommendations regarding the COVID-19 outbreak. The Pennsylvania Department of Public Health's site is designed to provide you the necessary information to keep you and your loved ones safe. #stayhome #staysafe #washyourhands https://bit.ly/2XUGQ44
Along with many others, the United States government is quietly continuing the assault on LGBTQ individuals in the name of "immigration". The State Department is now denying the citizenship of children born of legitimate U.S. citizens (LGBTQ) and the State Department is hinging this policy on the 1952 Immigration and Nationality Act, an outdated piece of legislation that does not address scientific breakthroughs for medically-assisted birth OR the legality of same-sex marr...iage. It is disconcerting, to say the least, to witness the extreme measures this Administration is willing to go to deny our existence. Take this Pride Month to be reminded that there is a lot of work to do. I know we're up for the fight - we always have been and we're not about to stop now! EVERY married couple has a postnuptial agreement - it's whether or not you and your partner wrote it or the default laws of the state you live in wrote it. And believe me, the default divorce laws are meant for no one and everyone all at the same time. LGBTQ people are changing the stigma around pre and postnuptial agreements for the better and making it an empowering process!
Join us in celebration of the new year at the Pyramid Club with Independence Business Alliance, the Human Rights Campaign and other members of the Pyramid Club. Hope to see you there!
Now through the inauguration, Giampolo Law Group, along with a dedicated team of trained volunteers, will be providing pro bono services to anyone in PA and NJ seeking a name change, or gender marker changes to documents, including driver's license, social security card and/or passport. Changing your gender marker on a passport is very important because Mme Secretary Clinton unilaterally allowed changes during her tenure and it is very likely that the ability to do so will be rescinded under the new Secretary of State. Reach us at [email protected] or through the website at www.giampololaw.com and feel free to call us at 215-645-2415! ** If you are in a state in which we are not licensed, reach out anyways and I will find someone in your state that will honor my pro bono offer.
Why can’t we be more like Canada??! Marriage Equality has removed some boundaries in regards to LGBT parental rights, but there are still legal barriers in family planning. Being on a birth certificate does not confer parental rights despite what a lot of people think. Without an adoption, the family unit is exposed- and yet it doesn’t have to be that way. Read further to see Canada’s progressive take on LGBT family planning and what you can do until we catch up to our northern brothers and sisters!
Woman of the Day: Paula Stewart started out as a waitress at IHOP in her teens, she became president of Applebee’s domestic division, but was denied the CEO position so she became CEO of IHOP and then took over Applebee’s in 2007! #rockon!
