Gibson Township 16.11.2020

GIBSON TOWNSHIP MINUTES Monday, August 17, 2020 PRESENT: Scott Yandric, Brandie Sherry ABSENT: Matt Chilcote, Kevin Smith... VISITORS: Kim Yandric, Linda Burrows, Sam Chilcote and Gaylord McIssac The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm Secretary: There was not an official meeting due to quorum. Gaylord did stand up and address Scott and stated that he had a lawsuit against the Township. He stated that Scott can not talk to him like he did the other day and Brandie asked him if he was going to still work. Gaylord stated for now yes, and that if he didn’t stay working then he would be claiming mental issues due to the stress of work and that would be a lot worse for the township. Gaylord then stated that Dave Satterlee was seen stealing stone from the Township. He also stated that he does not need to come give a roadmaster report, if the Supervisors want to know what was done to look at the time sheets. Then Gaylord walked out of the meeting. Scott then explained to the visitors how hard it is to get stuff done when the Supervisors only meet once a month, and Kevin has basically stopped doing anything. August 19,2020 Matt Chilcote and Scott Yandric had a phone conference to discuss some business that needed taken care of before the next meeting. Kevin never answered the text that was sent about the upcoming phone conference. Scott explained to Matt that Grove Township had offered to help Gibson to fix up Hoover Road in the trouble spot that was worked on last year. Grove had secured free material that could be used and offered to rent their trucks and operators to Gibson to help complete the project. Scott and Matt agreed to have Grove and Gibson to work together on Hoover Road, with a $40,000 cap on the cost of equipment and operators. Next meeting will be September 21, 2020 starting at 7:00 pm Respectfully submitted, Brandie Sherry

Folks, just a heads up that the Cameron County Conservation District is working with Grove Twp to improve the river access area at the bottom of Wycoff Road dow...nstream of the bridge. We were hoping to have it done sooner but we are unable to pour concrete until tomorrow. The access will be closed completely until this friday the 4th and after that will be limited to FOOT TRAFFIC ONLY until next week sometime. So PLEASE no driving on the new concrete. A sign will be posted at the site so everybody knows. This project will make it much easier for people to access the river to launch and recreate on Sinnemahoning Creek. No more mudhole to worry about getting stuck in. See more

A drought watch declaration has been issued for several counties in PA. It calls for a voluntary 5% reduction in non-essential water use and puts large water consumers on notice to begin planning for the possibility of reduced water supplies. #PAwx | August 21, 2020 @ 10:50AM

Driftwood Water Company Voluntary Water Conservation Due to the lack of rain, and a seemly high demand for water, the Driftwood Borough Water Company is asking ...for a voluntary water conservation. There is a list of tips at the end of this. The Best way to cut down on your household’s usage is to fix suspected leaks. The Borough has been out looking and listening for leaks, and we notify you when one is found. You then have 15 days to repair that leak. Water I a precious commodity at this time in Driftwood and your community needs your help to conserve and preserve our water supply. Leaks can account for, on average 10,000 galloons of water wasted in the homes every year. Check for leaking faucets then repair. A leaking faucet that drips at one drop per second can waste 3,000 gallons per day Check and repair leaking toilets. A leaking/running toilet can potentially waste 4.5 gallons per minute, (that's nearly 300 gallons per hour, or 6,480 gallons per day) Replace shower head(s) in your home, and take shorter showers Don’t run the water while you brush your teeth Repair all water leaks inside and outside you home Minimize watering your gardens to early morning or late evenings when it is cool helps in not wasting water through evaporation Wait to wash laundry until you have a full load Wait to run dishwasher until you have a full load Take your car to a car wash, don’t wash it at home No topping of swimming pools, fountains Thank you for your cooperation.
