Taking advantage of this sunny and cold day to lay down the hay mulch on the strawberries before the big snow that is in the forecast. The mulch will keep the strawberries warm enough through the winter to make it to spring. Brrrr even Meemee is cold!

The remaining funds from our Community Subsidized CSA Share program this year (a total of $1,364) is going to the Sullivan Fresh Community Cupboard, a joint effort program between the Cornell Cooperative Extension and Sullivan Allies Leading Together (SALT), to help fight hunger & food apartheid in our community. The Community Cupboard does door-to-door food distribution and ...community outreach to combat hunger and has distributed more than 30,000 meals and personal necessities across 1,000 square miles since March. It is reaching folks who were in need well before the pandemic: invisible populations in public housing, motels, migrant workers, disabled veterans in hyper rural housing communities and others with no transportation, limited access to services and living in food deserts.
