I loved the light wash color but they were a bit too big to start with. So, with the savings from shopping at Goodwill, I was able to afford to stop by the tailor to get them fitted, supporting two local businesses in the process. Goodwill is a household name and a staple in our community for good reason. Take time to donate, shop and support a business like Goodwill that is always giving back.

Whether it's at the start of every season, every month, week, or year, it is extremely important to keep the cycle of secondhand clothes going, by giving some of your infrequently used items to Goodwill. My rule of thumb is this: if I plan to buy a big bag full of clothes from Goodwill, I pack a bag to bring along to the donation bins before heading inside to shop. This cycle keeps my closet from overcrowding and the flow of fresh items constantly streaming through the racks. I often ask myself, "Have you actually worn this recently"? If the answer is no, it goes along on my next trip to Goodwill to find a new home with someone who will wear it! #shopsecondhand

I knew I would find pieces that would inspire a look and sure enough, I stumbled across this beautiful black lace dress and immediately saw Stevie Nicks. I also found a hat and shawl to bring my look together. Best part, the Halloween section was 50% off! Love Goodwill always coming through when I need inspiration! #thriftedcostume

While these wings were a basic set when I first thrifted them, a few extra feathers did the trick to take my pair to the next level. I even found a tinier pair of wings for my cat! The '70s have been a big influence on my costumes this year so I had to finish the look with this beautiful Gunne Sax formal dress. A divine look, all for less than $20!

A few times throughout the year, we ask customers to round up their purchase to the nearest dollar at our Goodwill Stores. The change or difference will be donated to our Goodwill Campaign. Your donation will directly provide job training programs to people with disabilities and other barriers to independence. We offer a wide variety of opportunities to help people develop skills for resume development, job search and interviewing. By saying yes to our round up campaign, you are providing someone with a hand-up rather than a hand-out. Help change a life by saying yes at the register.

I spent the last several weeks in the land of celebrities and luxury fashion: Los Angeles. While everyone around me seemed to be wearing luxury new styles, I filled my suitcase with trendy pieces I thrifted at Goodwill! Whenever I was asked where I bought my outfit (like this white linen blouse I scored for 99 cents), people were surprised to learn the source was always Goodwill! I love wearing my coveted finds and sharing the news of shopping second hand with as many people as possible! The more we encourage others to try thrifting, the better for the environment and for the community positively impacted by the mission of Goodwill. #shopsecondhand
