2020 was a tough year to say the least, but we were happy to still be able to give back to the community. Hoping for an even more fruitful year and one that brings health and happiness to all.

Hello, everyone! First and foremost, we hope that each of you is staying safe and well, and that 2021 will be a much better year than last! Obviously, given all the complications of 2020, it's taken us nearly a year to update our page (), but that doesn't mean that last year wasn't a successful one! Stay tuned here for additional updates, including our total output and number of donations, as well as some beautiful pictures. In the meantime, a quick update: we got our rai...n barrels!! Thanks both to the enterprising work of Michael Cook, one of our members, and to the generous donation of DeLallo in Jeannette, we were able to repurpose enormous olive barrels for our rain barrel array! We captured hundreds of gallons of rain water in an area (Green Acres Lane) much prone to flooding, and we discovered that the barrels could sustain the garden through even mild to moderate drought! Overall, it's an amazing addition to the garden, and we're looking forward to learning more in the coming season!

A Brief Pictorial Retrospective: The 2019 Season. Well, Greenacres Garden’s 2019 season is drawing to a close, and it’s been a successful, full, and hectic one! :-) While we’ll have more to share in the coming months regarding our total number of distributions and end-of-season tallies, I thought I’d share some of the photos we snapped in between various tasks and welcome everyone inside the garden for a closer look. From the first flush of spring and our bean and pea plants,... to midsummer basil and tomatoes, to late-season beets, spinach, and fledgling parsnips & carrots, you’ll get a sense of the changing looks and seasons of the garden. Also, Joe, one of our founding members (seen here modeling our last batch of spring radishes), has just relocated to Meyersdale, PA, so we of course wish him well and thank him for all of his early contributions! :-) Thanks also to all those who have contributed various forms of support (from moral to financial), and for your ongoing interest in our work! We’ll have more to share here soon. :-) See more
