Trail guides are responsible for the care and feeding of horses, general farm clean up, giving lessons to riders, assisting riders on trail rides, collecting paperwork and money from clients, making clients feel at home. You are paid tips by the riders, which varies, but on a good day, you may make between $50 and $100. You are expected to have horses fed, groomed, tacked and ready by the time riders are scheduled. We need somebody with flexible time available for unexpecte...d riders, who come without a reservation. After working with us for a month or two, you may bring a family member for a ride. The opportunity to ride a horse on your own time is our fringe benefit to you, in lieu of money. You will be trained for several rides before actually earning tips. This is a volunteer position for a person who seriously wants to be involved with our horses. You need to be able to communicate in a professional manner when engaging with the clients.
