*UPDATE - TEDDIE IS HOME! After 10 whole days of being missing, Teddie was finally found and returned safely to his family. We want to thank everyone who looked for Teddie all over the city and everyone who sent encouraging prayers, calls, and texts to Teddie’s family. He was spotted in an alley between 23rd and 24th on Lombard. As of last night, Teddie was back in his home sleeping on a blanket next to his owner with a full belly. We are in awe of all the support and the quick turnaround in finding Teddie. As winter approaches, we are in desperate need of foster homes to help us shelter the stray & homeless cats we rescue from the street. Have you thought about the difference you can make as a foster parent to a cat in need? We're answering from FAQs to inspire, inform & encourage a new batch of cat lovers to become foster parents. What does it mean to foster a rescue cat? ... When you foster a cat, you offer them a place to call home while they wait for their furrrever family. Foster families provide food, shelter, toys and socialization. We take care of their vet care. Foster families serve as the PR agent for their foster - sharing photos & updates with our adoption team. How does it work? Complete the foster application http://www.lecatcafe.org/foster/. You will be notified when you are approved and then you can arrange for a private pick up at your cat's foster home. Please bring a carrier with you and make sure you have all the necessary supplies (food, litter, litter box, cat beds, toys, etc). If you need supplies, many pet shops are doing curbside orders. We recommend Fairmount Pet Shoppe and Baltimore Pet Shoppe. Why should I foster? Fostering is MOST IMPACTFUL WAY you can help GSR's mission. By offering them a place to live, you give a cat(s) a chance at a happy tail and by doing so, you free up space in another location for us to rescue another cat.
