Attention all Greenville Little League families and fans: There is a new PA order for wearing masks and maintaining 6ft social distancing outside with all non-household members effective immediately per Gov. Wolf. Greenville Little League continues to take precautions (cleaning nightly of shareable spaces and restrooms and respecting everyone in our facilities). We request that all Families/spectators continue to maintain social distancing where possible and to wear a mas...k when appropriate. Please understand that it must be determined by each player's parent whether to allow your child in the dugouts, to wear a mask or not, or to keep them in a chair with you during the game. Managers, Coaches and board members are not equipped to police every special request made by parents or every behavior of all of the players. Should individuals be uncomfortable at any time with the procedures or protocols of the league or with environmental situations caused by families, fans or spectators, they may choose at any time to not engage in little league activities. As always, we ask that anyone experiencing flu-like symptoms or other symptoms indicative of Covid-19 infection, or if you believe that you have been exposed to anyone experiencing these symptoms or who has been diagnosed with COVID-19, be courteous and remain at home. Update 6/7/20: Tonight we met with officials from Mercer, Commodore Perry/Lakeview, and Grove City Little Leagues to discuss interleague play and to determine a set of standard Covid-19 safety procedures. For Interleague play, it appears that there will be 8-9 teams in the 11/12 division, 5 teams in the 9/10 division, and 6 teams in the 7/8 division. One league will be finalizing their teams this week so as soon as we know for sure the exact number of teams who will be ...Continue reading

Quick update Our modified ‘Covid-19’ 2020 season rosters are starting to come together! For players in Coach-Pitch up to the Major Division, if a manager/coach has not reached out to you yet to see if you are wanting to play this year, please let me know on this post. (T-Ballers we didn’t forget about you...just give us a bit more time to get our act together). Players who are opting out of playing this year are being put on a list for refunds. Please bear with us... while we figure out the best method to get the refund to you. For players wanting to play, Uniform sizes are being sorted out and the order will be placed very soon. If they have not already done so, Managers will be reaching out very soon to notify players of practice days/times. Our league will be meeting with presidents of several other leagues this Sunday to hash out a set of agreed upon safety restrictions, determine the number of teams in each age division to play against and to discuss some game scheduling details. We hope to have a game schedule put together by the middle of next week. Our current plan for the season is to start practices June 6th and start games the week of June 22nd. We are wanting to complete the season by the end of July/1st week of August at the latest. We believe we can get approximately 14-16 games (playing MWF) for 11/12s and 12-14 games (playing TR) for the 9/10s and 7/8s over that six-week period. The logistics of T-ball are still being determined. Should enough managers be found to take teams, rosters will be assembled quickly so that practices can be scheduled & started. We will be looking to schedule games on MWFs but may need to make some adjustments depending on how scheduling goes with the older age divisions. If no one is able or willing to take teams then we may have to cancel the season for the T-ball division. Although I don’t yet have all of the Covid-19 risk-mitigation measures that we will employ for this season, we are requesting that each player, where possible, have their own helmet and bat for practices/games. If anyone is not wanting to purchase equipment for this year it is no problem!...just let your manager or coach know and we will issue a league helmet and/or bat for the player to borrow until the end of the season. We are excited that we’re going to be able to play baseball this year!!! We hope that we are able to adopt practices and take measures, within reason, that will allow all of us to remain safe and healthy. That being said, it will take everybody trying to do their part to socially distance where possible, wash/sanitize hands frequently, and refrain from coming to the ball fields if you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms. We can’t wait to see our fields busy again!!! Let’s play ball!

We are still waiting for Mercer County to be permitted to enter the Green phase. Here is the link that explains the Governor’s parameters of activities in the Green phase: https://www.governor.pa.gov//20200522-Department-of-Health Should we hear soon that we will be green, we will attempt to meet with other local leagues to put together a schedule. Should Mercer County be left in yellow for an extended period of time, the Board will meet to discuss a timeframe for po...tentially cancelling the season, a method for refunding registration fees, and a strategy for running a fall-ball season later in the summer. We remain hopeful that Mercer County will be Green within a week or two and we will be prepared to rapidly move forward with our season at that time. Should you decide at any point that you are no longer interested in participating in the spring/summer season, please contact us so that we can refund your registration fee.

Greenville Little League Covid-19 Update: Suspension of Greenville Little League activities has been extended at least until April 6th. As many are aware, the Department of Education extended the school closure period due to the Covid-19 virus until April 6th. Greenville Little League continues to find it appropriate at this time to mirror the recommendations set forth by the Department of Education and Department of Health to maintain social-distancing and other risk-mitigation efforts to slow the spread of the virus. As the health and wellness of the youth and families we serve are our top priority, Greenville Little League will continue to reassess the situation as we get closer to that April 6th date to determine whether an additional period of suspension is appropriate.

Greenville Little League Assoc. 28.01.2019

IMPORTANT MESSAGE Greenville Little League will be suspending all activities until March 30th at a minimum in an effort to follow the guidelines set forth by the Department of Health and to run concurrent with the school closures announced this afternoon by Governor Wolf. This includes all practices and open field-work days. We at Greenville Little League recognize that the current situation is disappointing; however, it is imperative that each of us do our part to slow the spread of this virus. As our public health officials continue to monitor the spread of Covid-19 and provide updates, Greenville Little League will continue to evaluate information received to determine if an additional period of suspension is warranted.
