Grove City Police have received several calls from local residents informing us that someone is calling them and claiming to be an Officer with Grove City Police. The scammer is capable of spoofing the number to Grove City Police Department so it appears as though the calls are being made by GCPD when indeed they are not. The scammer is threatening call recipients with arrest warrants and legal action. THIS IS A SCAM. Grove City Police will never request money or payment in lieu of jail. All payments for outstanding fines are to be made to the court, not to a police officer. Please disregard these calls and DO NOT SHARE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION over the phone. GCPD wants to remind you that if you do have an active warrant, an officer, deputy or constable will appear in person.
