How exhilarating...equestrians of all disciplines can bring their steed and gallop to the finish line at Kingston Downs compliments of Georgia Steeplechase offering amateur races at October's Steeplechase. Love, love, love it!

Another one of our homebreds landed in great hands. Moonstruck Cowboy 2008 gelding by Two Punch out of Odner's Jewel by Chief's Crown. Retired from racing the end of 2017, age 9., 73 starts, 11 wins 11 seconds, 9 thirds. $229,365 The market was way down in 2009 when he was offered for sale at the Md yearling auction. Stud fee was $10,000. I was willing to let him go for $7,500, no takers. Good looking horse, decent pedigree by the very good, respected Maryland stallion. ...Had typical Two Punch knees. People/buyers said he wouldn't stand training. We proved them wrong. I broke/started and trained him until he went to the track. He was by far the most difficult of the bunch that season. Not nasty, ornery just a problem child. For a long time. He was the only one in my special needs class that year. I did not look forward to getting on him for a long time. All of us who do this sort of horse work, training can't wait for the light bulb to come on. And stay on. All the young horses I worked with were taught more than just "race". I ride youngsters in an English hunt saddle most of the time. They learn leg contact, and other standard ques not used in racing. They go on trials, jump logs, small fences etc from time to time. This guy always felt like a good racehorse. Glad he proved me right. Now the other extra work I/we put into him is paying off for his new owner. Many thanks to Jessica Ann See more

Another packrat find. The first win picture with my silks/colors. I had just started out as a Bloodstock agent. Like most in their late 20s-30a+ we think we wrote the book. Esp young horse people. I bought this guy at the long gone Belmont (racetrack) Paddock sale for horses racing and or in training. They called it "Paddock Sale". But all the horses were sold/auctioned in the parking lot. Have to agree with my father; Belmont Parking Lot Sale doesn't sound as good. Was a you...Continue reading

It's about damn time the racing industry, horse sports in general. Question the value of Shock Wave. I started pointing this out in various public forums around 10 years ago. It is a performance enhancer that does not test. Anybody can buy one and use for nefarious reasons. Several top sports vets I have discussed it use have all said. "It has value for things above the legs. Limited to no therapeutic value for leg issues. Esp for competition horses. Other then to keep them able to compete. When they should be given down time, rest. http://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/shockwave-therapy-new/

For those interested in TB breeding to race, What do all of these stallions have in common? That make them leading broodmare sires.
