Do your part. Fulfill your civic duty. VOTE.
Many students and teachers are returning to in-person schooling today after a long period of separation. I know the school staffs have done a tremendous job in making the environment as safe as possible for optimum learning. Let’s thank all those devoted educators who do such invaluable work, day in and day out. And to all the students-happy learning!
As we celebrate independence and freedom, remember it also includes a duty to our fellow citizens. Enjoy you day safely and responsibly.
We have gotten the green light to reopen our office! (Actually, it’s a yellow light, so we will proceed with caution.). While we will continue to offer video and phone consultations, you may visit the office with the assurance that we are following all CDC and Pennsylvania Bar Association protocols. Call for an appointment. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time. Our hope is that you and your family are safe and healthy.
It has now been two months since the Governor’s shutdown of law offices, and I sure do miss seeing my clients! We are preparing to open a soon as we get the green light. Our office will be ready with extra safety precautions so you can be confident when you return. We will continue to offer video consultations if you are more comfortable with that. Stay safe and healthy, and be kind and considerate to your fellow humans as we all weather this storm.
I know that we are all worried, afraid, confused, and concerned about the uncertainty that comes with this public health crisis. We are now about one month in, and every day we complete means one day closer to a return to a more normal existence. I hope all my clients and friends are staying safe and healthy. My staff and I are working hard to be available to answer your questions and help resolve problems. I look forward to reopening my office and seeing everyone (even if it’s from behind a mask). In the meantime, breathe and appreciate all that you can.
An update: due to the governor’s mandate, our office will be closed until further notice. My staff and I will be working remotely, so we can still be reached by email or phone. This is a hardship for everyone, but we will get through this together. Thanks for your patience and patronage.
As we all face this unprecedented global health crisis, be assured that my office is working diligently to maintain prompt and efficient client service. We are still open and operating, communicating by phone and email. If you would like to make an appointment or already have one, we strongly recommend that it be conducted via phone. I acknowledge that in my kind of practice, face to face contact is critical. But sometimes we need to make exceptions. We are in constant contact with the courts regarding scheduling, deadlines, and the like. Let’s all spare a thought for those losing their jobs or, worse, who will suffer from the illness. We are in this together. Practice empathy and compassion, and wash your hands!
In honor of Women’s History Month, I am stealing this post from my herstory-teacher sister (Judy, this is payback for the time you stole my perfume).
Today is National Girls and Women in Sports Day. I am thankful that I had parents who encouraged me to play sports (including tackle football as the only girl in the neighborhood), coaches who taught me the importance of teamwork and leadership, and a sister who, as a coach of young women, inspires me by how she inspires them. Here’s to all who continue to advocate for equality in sports.
I think this applies to every new year (and new day). May 2020 bring you laughter, gratitude and happiness.
Voting is your right, but more importantly it’s your obligation as a citizen. This year, we only have local elections. They aren’t sexy, but local government is where it all starts. These are the deciders who make the most direct impact on your daily life. Fewer people vote in local elections, so your vote counts even more. People died for your right to vote. Get out there and make your voice heard.
I love being a volunteer and sponsor for the Women’s 5K Classic!
September is Suicide Prevention Month. Mental health issues touch everyone.
