What a year it has been so far! You may have noticed that Hamburg Hawks Performing Arts has been a bit quiet about doing a musical this yearbut now it’s time to get Hamburg Hawk LOUD & PROUD!!!!! After the success of White Christmas, it was planned that we would be performing the musical Bye Bye Birdie in the Fall of 2020. The plan was then modified to perform the musical Bye Bye Birdie in the Spring of 2021. Well, we can tell you that at least one of those statements is st...ill true! We ARE presenting a musical in the Spring of 2021! It sure has been a hard knock life this past year and we are ready for some F-U-N, FUN!!! We wish we could travel to N.Y.C. or anywhere at all. However, while we are safely tucked away here in Hooverville (oops we mean Hamburg), perhaps you and your friends would like to be a part of a musical theater show. Grab your buckets and some sunshine, cause here we go! ANNOUNCING the HASD 2021 Spring Musical......ANNIE!! Hamburg Hawks Performing Arts latest production, sponsored by the Hamburg Area School District, will perform on April 30 and May 1, 2021! Important Upcoming Dates - Mark Your Calendars! Jan. 19 @ 6 PM Introductory Meeting held virtually over ZOOM Jan. 27 (auditions)/28 (callbacks if needed) Student Auditions Feb. 1 - April 9 Rehearsals! (schedule TBD) April 12 - 29 Dress Rehearsals + Tech Week April 30 Performance #1 May 1 Performance #2 We have one AMAZING cast member so far SEELY!!!!! Seely (with Mrs. McCarthy’s help) will be playing the role of Sandy," Annie's beloved furry friend! Seely is adorable and could probably carry the whole show, BUT to make the show really successful though, We Need You!!! Cast, crew, pit orchestra, lights, sound, costumes, makeup! An INFORMATIONAL MEETING will be held virtually for interested students (and their parents). *Tuesday, January 19th @ 6:00 PM via ZOOM to meet the directors, learn about how Hamburg will safely rehearse and produce a musical during a pandemic, and answer questions. Please e-mail Mrs. Sara Jackson ([email protected]) with your interest by Friday, January 15th. A Zoom link will be sent by 5:00 PM on the 19th to all students/parents who have expressed interest in the show. There will also be a sign-up sheet to assess student interest on the Drama Board at the high school in the music wing. Here at Hamburg, we know that the "sun’ll come out tomorrow" and hope that the news of performing a musical will give you some pep in your step! Get those feet moving and join us!
