It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our company’s cofounder, Alvin Kaufman, at the age of 90. On Saturday evening, after having been in the... hospital for the last two weeks fighting Covid-19, he passed from a heart attack in his sleep. As the middle of Robert Kaufman’s three sons, Alvin worked along with his brothers, Saul and Harvey, and took great pride in helping to build this business in to what it has become today. For those of you who didn’t get to know Alvin, there was a time when he was our only salesman. He loved his family and he loved the business and his customers. He was always ready with a smile, a joke, or to sing a song. Alvin loved sports, tennis and going on cruises with Dorita, his lovely wife of 66 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife Dorita, son Steve, daughter-in-law Sally, and daughter Laurie and grandchildren Gram and Angelica Thomas. He is also survived by his younger brother Harvey, who continues to sit on Robert Kaufman's Board of Directors and oversee the company’s day-to-day operations. We all miss Alvin, and the joy and encouragement he brought to our lives. He will live forever in our hearts.
