Our Forestry team was busy this week getting some site prep done in Virginia. (Thanks, Doug Pond and Brendan Schnell!) Pines are typically shade-intolerant and ...grow better with more sun. When competing vegetation is managed, pine seedling survival and early growth rates increase significantly. Our team tailors tank mixes to treat the specific spectrum of competition on each site. Herbicides leave a lighter footprint on the site compared to mechanical site prep - the soil is not physically altered and the risk of erosion is minimal. We’re working with one of our great partners, Helicopter Applicators Inc. this week (they are always a first class act!). We recently captured some video for ARCO Design/Build at their DHL warehouse project in Manchester, PA. Mechanical equipment company, Enginuity, had lots of he...avy units to be placed on the roof. Helicopter Applicators Inc provided the heavy lifting service they needed. The Civil Air Patrol out of Gettysburg stopped by today for a visit. If we can inspire 1 young person to become a pilot, it's worth all the time in the world to answer every question they have.
