Number of hemp field locations in our area grown this year in 2019. We can expect that next year the number of farms growing hemp around here and across the sta...te to triple. It is fitting. This precise area was the leading hemp producing region in the state (with the addition of several other counties). Between 1720-1870 there were over 100 water-powered mills for processing hemp fiber in Lancaster County alone, at least 36 hemp mills in York County and at least 36 hemp mills in Berks County. There were also hemp mills in Chester, Lebanon and Dauphin counties as well. In fact hemp mills were found in almost every area of every county in the state up until well into the 1800's. Several thousand acres of fiber hemp were grown this year between Lancaster and York counties but the vast majority of locations are growing hemp for CBD this year. Altogether this year the Pa. Dept. of Ag estimates that between 6,000 to 8,000 acres of hemp were planted in the state. I wouldn't doubt if that goes up to 20,000 acres next year. We think it will take about 15 years to get up to the point where we are growing about 600,000 acres of hemp in the state. All that corn you see now? That might change to hemp some day.

Hempcrete is ten times stronger than concrete, mold resistant, rot resistant, termite resistant, fire resisitant, and carbon negative. It's even better than cob/adobe.
