Hill International has won the Design-Build Institute of America’s (DBIA) 2020 Project of the Year and Best in Architecture Design awards for the Spokane Riverfront Park U.S. Pavilion! Originally constructed for the 1974 World’s Fair, this project reimagined an iconic public performance and park space. It was an exceptional experience managing the design-build process for this once-in-a-lifetime project, says Hill Vice President Matthew Walker, AIA, CCM, DBIA, who served the Hill team’s Project Manager. Congratulations to Hill International Assistant Project Manager Jarvis Alridge for his recent appointment to board secretary for the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI) CMAA Construction Manager-in-Training (CMIT) Committee. Jarvis has served on the committee since October 2019, and with this appointment is now an officer of the committee. CMCI which supports the needs of the construction management profession. Way to go, Jarvis!

On Saturday October 24, Hill International Director of Business Development Dan Laird joined the Pittsburgh ASHE Chapter’s Bi-Annual Roadside Clean Up as part of the Adopt a Highway Program. The group came together to clean I-376, making sure to adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols. A special thanks goes out to the event organizer, Project Manager Eric Stein, PE, with the City of Pittsburgh Department of Mobility and Infrastructure!

Hill International has received four 2020 Owners’ Project Excellence Awards from the Western Council of Construction Consumers (WCCC)! The VTA SR 237 Express Lanes Phase 2 project was recognized with the Outstanding Project Achievement Award in the category of Infrastructure New and the Innovative Project Solutions Award. The City of Orange Metrolink Parking Garage earned the Exceptional Project Achievement Award in the category Infrastructure Renovation and the Sustainability Excellence Award. Hill International welcomes Vice President Chuck Pope, CCM, located in our Irvine, CA, office. Over his nearly 30-year career, Chuck has managed all phases of rail systems work on several billion-dollar rail projects. He brings expertise in signals, PTC, communications, traction power, OCS, systems-wide electrical, systems integration, and startup and testing for commuter rail, light rail, heavy rail, subways, and transit systems. The Ministry of Justice and Federal Courts Complex and EREC Building No. 35 project is complete! The 151,700 SM complex is located in Khalifa City A in Abu Dhabi, and features courts, offices, a theater, a nursery, gate buildings, cooling plant, roads, parking, and related amenities and utilities. Hill International provided project management for the complex. Congratulations to the entire team on completing this unique project.
