Earlier today, Station 293 was alerted for a Motor Vehicle Crash with Entrapment. 293 Assistant arrived on scene to find one vehicle into a parked car with one occupant still inside. 293 and 203 Rescue arrived on scene and removed the driver side door of the vehicle for patient access. Crews were on scene for roughly one hour.

Early today, Station 293 was alerted for a residential structure fire. 293 Rescue arrived on scene to a working fire on the 1st Division. Crews from 293 Rescue were assigned to fire suppression and deployed a 2 attack line. Crews from 293 Engine were assigned to a primary search. Crews were able make a quick knock and contain the fire to the rear porch and kitchen. 293 Engine crew had negative findings and command updated the crews that all occupants were accounted for. Un...fortunately, the owners of the house are both members of our company. We asked that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this tough time. Last Friday, crews from Station 293 stopped by Noah's Ark Child Care Center to provide Fire prevention Training. Crews went over the importance of fire safety and also provided a tour of 293 Truck.

Over the past two drill nights, Station 293 hosted a Hazmat Operations Refresher course. Members from Homeville, Duquesne (FIRE DEPARTMENT CITY OF DUQUESNE) and Baldwin 105 (Baldwin Independent Fire Co. #1 Station 105) participated in the class. For the first night, crews went over the Emergency Response Guide and types of hazmat situations. On the final night of the class, crews were given a scenario and had to show how they would handle the situation.

Last night during our Hazmat Operations Refresher class. Station 293 was alerted to assist Station 171 (Homestead) with a commercial structure fire located at the Waterfront McDonald’s. 293 Truck, Rescue and Utility responded. 293 Truck assisted with ladder operations and crews from 293 assisted with overhaul and investigation.
