We've spent the last couple years updating and in some cases redesigning a bunch of our horseshoes. We've finally reached the last one on the list: Challenger! Take a look at the first plastic model of the revised Challenger... most people won't notice much difference. But I'm sure those that pitch this shoe will see the changes. We'll be recasting the pattern with the version you see here later this month. Then we'll put it through a few test runs to get the bugs worked out and to get some metal shoes to play with and then the first all out production run is scheduled for mid March of 2021... exciting times here with our Thoroughbred Horseshoes at www.HorseshoesOnline.com! Cajun Coast Classic Horseshoe Tour Tournament in Morgan City, LA, Dates October 10-11 (this upcoming weekend) Update: BREAKING NEWS! THIS TOURNAMENT HAS BEE...N CANCELED. It is clear that this tropical storm named Delta, soon to be hurricane Delta, is going to severely impact play of this tournament this weekend in Morgan City, LA. At best, it is almost certainly going to wash out Saturday pitching entirely, leaving us with only Sunday to work with and most likely, not the whole day... and that's the best we can expect. The worst is unthinkable! The Morgan City area is actually looking at possible evacuation plans, so that should tell you how serious this storm is. It's the real deal and we have no choice but to cancel this event. We wanted to give you all as much notice as possible, as we know many of you will be leaving to get there in the next day or so. There will soon be a more official announcement of this here, telling you this same thing and how entry fees will be refunded, etc. But I figured since we just made the call that we should tell you ASAP. I'm really sorry to break this news. We were all looking forward to this trip and to seeing everyone; most of you for the first ime in a long time. But trust me, this was the right call. This is a great little piece of horseshoe History... "Horseshoe Pete" Donoho, inventor of the flip shoe... his was the Cal-Flip, the first true flip shoe ever made. We (Thoroughbred Horseshoes) had the honor of producing that shoe for about the last ten years that it was made.

These are challenging times, but I think it's times like these where we have a great opportunity to be grateful. We can be grateful for our families, and the chance that we have to spend more time with them. We can be grateful for the leadership that we have in this country (even if we didn't vote for them or don't approve of the job they're doing). We can be grateful for the people in the healthcare field, law enforcement, first responders, and food service workers who ar...e on the front lines of this epidemic, and on and on... This is an interesting thing to stu...dy, especially now with the obvious danger of the Coronavirus seemingly lurking around every corner and infecting our minds with negativity. It’s true that the Coronavirus poses a real and present danger to us all, but that’s only half of the story! The other half of the story is one of opportunity. We are faced with a unique opportunity to pause our busy lives and reconnect with each other. All of a sudden, we have time to sit down and talk; sit down and listen; sit down and read. There is another Japanese concept called zanshin that means awareness. More precisely, it is a mindset of present moment focus, or in yoga terms, mindfulness. There is a dichotomy associated with this state of mind. On one hand, we should be aware of potential danger. But on the other hand, we should be aware of beauty. We should look around us and appreciate the beauty of our world. We should take the time to appreciate the little things that we so often ignore because of our normally hectic lives. It’s not good for us to solely be focused on the negative parts of this crisis. We should take the time every single day to find positive things that we can take from this experience, and focus on those things as much as possible. Yes, we should take this seriously. Yes, we should prepare for the worst. So we all talk about what shoes we throw ,style and what brand we throw. But let me ask? Do some rather throw in to dirt or clay? Our league took a trip about 4...0 miles away to a indoor club. Our best against their best in clay. I consider myself pretty good. Top 3 in our league for the last 10 years. But when we hit the clay.. it was night and day. I felt like a beginner I like to slide in on dirt and work my way up on the stake. See more

Bronco stock update: We're down under 80 pairs left of this old style. Once they're gone, they're gone for good. The new Bronco will roll out in about six weeks, so if you want some of the old ones, get them now!

Got the first metal versions of our new re-designed Bronco Horseshoe today... with this new shoe we tried to blend the thumb cleat into the body of the shoe and... I guess we did a good job of it because when I take pictures of it, you can hardly see that there's anything there, but trust me, it's there. Here's a couple preview pics of the new shoe. This one is going to be a challenge to get good photos, but this is a start. See more

Thoroughbred Horseshoes- Flip-Style Pitching Shoes: Flip-Style Horseshoes are commonly gripped in the middle and feature a reversed center cleat or "thumb cleat." Upon release, flip-style shoes tumble through the air end over end, landing with the front cleats down for maximum stopping power. Main differences between flip-style shoes are the shape of the thumb cleat and the amount of weight on the tips. Most flip pitchers like heavily weighted tips and a medium height, smooth contoured thumb cleat. Many prefer a thumb centering cut out in the cleat.

Thoroughbred Horseshoes- Traditional Horseshoes: Traditional Horseshoes are flat on one side and have three cleats on the other. They're primarily gripped on the side blade and pitched for a "turn" where upon release, the shoe rotates flat like a frisbee, but very slowly as it flies through the air. Traditional shoes are also occasionally gripped in the middle and pitched for a flip, but are primarily used by turn pitchers. The side blades of different models often vary in width and thickness, depending on what gripping technique a player prefers

Alan Francis Makes it 24 Men's World Horseshoe Titles and counting... Pitching 92.4% ringers in the final round of play on Saturday, August 3,2019 and 89.8% overall for the finals, Alan Francis, with a perfect 15-0 record against the top players in the world, dazzled the horseshoes world once again with a truly masterful performance in Wichita Falls, TX this past week at the 2019 World Horseshoe Championships. Congrats to Alan Francis!
