Pose of the Week- Ustrasana (camel pose) demonstrated by Hot Yoga Hut instructor, GI Jules. Benefits of camel pose: Opens up the hips, stretching deep hip flexors. Stretches and strengthens the shoulders and back. Expands the abdominal region, improving digestion and elimination. Improves posture. Opens the chest, improving respiration.... Loosens up the vertebrae. Relieves lower back pain. Doctors may also suggest camel pose to people who have constipation and colitis. See more
At Hot Yoga Hut we heat the room to 110 degrees, using the heat as a tool to get deeper into the body. Heat softens the tissues and muscles and makes the body more malleable. In Hot Yoga, they often say if glass is cold you can’t reshape it, but if you apply heat to glass, you can form it and bend it and mold it into shape. Same with the body. Physically, you can shape your body in a way that might not seem possible when you first step onto your yoga mat. As you create this melting away of the perceived limitations of your body, you start to seed where something else might be possible that you once thought couldn’t happen. The heat melts away layers of resistance and old holding patterns, physically and energetically.
NEW CLASS ALERT POWER YOGA every Thursday 4:30p in the Tiki Room with Lori Frohnheiser This one hour rigorous yoga sequence with strength postures will have you moving, breathing, and sweating. It is a fast-pace vinyasa class with focus on core strength. Power Yoga is ideal for yogis wishing to take their practice to the next level. Each session is set to music, and the sequence changes with each class.

Why we use Ujjayi breath in Hot Yoga Improves concentration and calms the mind. Ujjayi breath regulates heating of the body. The friction of the air passing through the lungs and throat generates internal body heat. It is similar to a massage for the internal organs; as the core becomes warm from the inside, the body becomes prepared for the asana practice. This heat makes stretching safer while the inner organs can be cleansed of any toxins that have accumulated. A focused Ujjayi breath can release tension and tight areas of the body. Additional benefits of Ujjayi pranayama include diminished pain from headaches, relief of sinus pressure, decrease in phlegm, and strengthening of the nervous and digestive systems.
