The Hughestown Hose Company will once again be collecting canned goods from the residents on Sunday, December 20th, starting around noon. We ask that all residents have their canned goods in a plastic or paper bag on their front porch no later than our noon start time. Remember, when you hear our siren, get your kids ready because Santa Claus will be coming down your street on top of Engine 143 to see all the good little boys and girls. The fire engine can stop briefly for a picture however, Santa will remain on top of our apparatus. We also regret to inform you that we will not be hosting our Annual Breakfast with Santa this year. We have every intention of continuing this tradition next year and look forward to seeing you!

It has been a busy day or so for the Hughestown Volunteers with all three ambulances responding to calls throughout our coverage area and Luzerne County. Starting late Wednesday night, our specialized bariatric unit responded to help crews from Hanover Township Community Ambulance Association Medic 9. Today, the bariatric unit along with A1 and A2 responded to numerous calls throughout the local area. Meanwhile, crews manned Engine 1 and EMS Squad 543 in the event of any further fire or EMS calls in the borough. The pride and dedication of our volunteers help us to continue to serve our community.
