GET READY FOR THE BIDEN GUN GRAB By Andrew Pollack Democrats now have single-party control of the federal government. President Joe Biden styled himself as the most moderate candidate his party had to offer. And still, during the campaign he promised to put Beto O’Rourke the man who blurted out Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15s in charge of his administration’s gun policies. ...Continue reading

LYFT DRIVER FIRED AFTER USING HER GUN IN SELF-DEFENSE by Cam Edwards All of the big rideshare companies like Uber and Lyft have policies that state no guns are allowed in the personal vehicles driven by the gig workers while they’re on the job. I would love to see that challenged in court, and maybe we’ve found the perfect vehicle (no pun intended) with this story out of Cleveland, Ohio....Continue reading

DAVID HOGG BECLOWNS HIMSELF ADVOCATING FOR STUPID POLICY by Tom Knighton David Hogg has never really covered himself in glory. Oh, if you agree with him, you think he’s great. Then again, you’re also probably part of the small segment of society that actually believes those stories about five-year-old kids supposedly asking supposedly poignant and inciteful questions about various policies....Continue reading

SHANNON WATTS WANT YOUR CREDIT CARD TO MONITOR YOUR PURCHASES by Tom Knighton Anti-gunners know that passing the kind of gun control legislation they want is an uphill battle. They have to take things in small chunks and that’s if they’re lucky. In a lot of cases, though, they haven’t been able to do much of anything over the years....Continue reading

MONTANA HOUSE WEIGHS ELIMINATION OF MANY STATE-MANDATED GUN FREE ZONES By AWR Hawkins The Montana House will soon vote on legislation to defend self-defense rights by eliminating state government-mandated gun free zones at Montana university campuses and other schools on public property.... The self-defense legislation, House Bill 102, is sponsored by Rep. Seth Berglee (R-Di HB 102 is presented as an Act to enhance the safety of people by expanding their legal ability to provide for their own defense by reducing or eliminating government-mandated places where only criminals are armed and where citizens are prevented from exercising their fundamental right to defend themselves and others. The Act states: Nowhere in Article X, section 9(2)(a), of the Montana constitution is any power granted to amend, suspend, alter, or abolish the Montana constitution, nor is any power granted to affect or interfere with the rights the people have reserved to themselves specifically from interference by government entities and government actors in Article II of the Montana constitution. The school and the Montana university system were created and are controlled by the Montana constitution and the land and buildings occupied by schools and the university system are public property and not private property and are therefore government entities. Any significant prohibition upon the possession of firearms at or on the various campuses of the Montana university system calls into question the rights that the people have reserved to protect themselves from government interference under Article II, section 12, of the Montana constitution. Campus carry is currently the law of the land in 11 states. Those states are Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Mississippi, Oregon, Texas, Tennessee, Utah, and Wisconsin. It is important to remember campus carry laws vary by state. For instance, the Texas law applies to concealed carry permit holders in general while Giffords reports the Tennessee carry law currently applies only to institution employees on campus.

434 MILLION FIREARMS MANUFACTURED FOR PRIVATE OWNERSHIP OVER PAST 25 YEARS By AWR Hawkins The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) indicates 434 million firearms were manufactured for private ownership over the last 25 years alone.... Breitbart News spoke with NSSF public affairs director Mark Olivia late Tuesday and he explained that the 434 million firearms were made for civilian possession. This means the whopping figure of 434 million includes firearms made in America for Americans and firearms made abroad then imported into America for Americans. For those who might ask what percentage of firearms are domestically made versus imported, NSSF production figures show six million firearms were made in the U.S. in 2019 and 3.3. million were imported. The NSSF notes: There are approximately 71.2 million pistol magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds, and 79.2 million rifle magazines capable of holding 30 or more rounds in circulation. They also estimate there are 20 million firearms in private possession which Democrats label assault weapons. The NSSF figures expose what a daunting task President-Elect Joe Biden faces as he takes office pledging to defeat the NRA and enact myriad gun controls, nearly all of which could impact every gun owner. From enacting universal background checks, which criminalize private gun sales, to banning the sale and manufacture of assault weapons and high capacity magazines, while also taxing said weapons and magazines, where they are already privately owned, Biden’s plans are no respecter of persons. Additionally, the NSSF estimates there were over 8.4 million first-time gun buyers in 2020 alone. Therefore, no matter who you slice it, plans to place new regulations on guns and gun owners will impact a large and ever-increasing portion of the American population.

JOE BIDEN’S PROPOSALS INCLUDE INCENTIVIZING STATES TO LICENSE WOULD-BE GUN OWNERS By AWR Hawkins Democrat presidential hopeful Joe Biden’s proposals for firearms include a push to incentivize states to license would-be gun owners.... Biden’s campaign website says, Biden will enact legislation to give states and local governments grants to require individuals to obtain a license prior to purchasing a gun. His website does not explain if a Biden administration would pursue a licensing procedure resembling Illinois’ Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card, New Jersey’s Firearms Purchaser Identification Card, or some other type of license. But the policy sets forth support for the attainment of some type of license in order to purchase a gun. Other gun proposals put forth by Biden include: A provision that could require every AR-15 rifle to be registered under the National Firearms Act of 1934. Unless there was some form of carve-out, this could mandate that American gun owners pay a $200 federal tax per AR-15 that they own. The National Rifle Association’s Andrew Arulanandam told Breitbart News that the current low end estimate of privately-owned AR-15s in the United States is 18 million. A tax of $200 on 18 million AR-15s means that gun owners could potentially be required to pay a collective $3.6 billion in taxes if this policy were enacted into legislation. A provision that could require Americans to sell back their so-called high-capacity magazines to the government or be registered under the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA). The latter, unless there was some form of carve-out, could mandate that American gun owners pay a $200 federal tax for every high-capacity magazine they currently own. A provision that could ban online sales of ammunition, guns, and gun parts. A pledge to revive the Social Security gun ban, which targeted benefit recipients who needed help managing their finances. The ban was adopted during the last full month of the Obama presidency and repealed during the first full month of the Trump presidency. A provision that would limit Americans a one-gun-a-month purchase maximum. The Biden campaign website says, Biden supports legislation restricting the number of firearms an individual may purchase per month to one.

TEXAS CHURCH HEROES: BIDEN’S GUN AGENDA ‘LEAVES US DEFENSELESS AGAINST CRIMINALS’ By AWR Hawkins Jack Wilson and Stephen Willeford each used a gun to stop armed church attackers in Texas, and say Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden’s gun controls could have rendered them defenseless during the attacks.... Wilson used a handgun to sho0t and kill a church attacker in White Settlement, Texas, on December 29, 2019. Willeford used an AR-15 to stop a church attacker in Sutherland Springs, Texas, on November 5, 2017. Both Wilson and Willeford claim that the enactment of Biden’s gun control proposals would benefit criminals, putting law-abiding citizens at a disadvantage. The NRA published a video in which Biden criticized Willeford’s use of an AR-15 to stop the attacker, saying, The kind of gun being carried he shouldn’t be carrying. And in the video, Wilson claims Biden’s tax plan for certain firearm magazines will make the exercise of the Second Amendment cost prohibitive, saying, He wants to make gun ownership only affordable to the elite. Biden’s dream is to leave us all defenseless against criminals, Wilson said. Breitbart News reported that Biden’s gun policy includes a provision that could require Americans to sell back their so-called high-capacity magazines to the government, or be registered under the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA). The latter, unless there were some form of carve-out, could mandate that American gun owners pay a $200 federal tax for every high-capacity magazine they currently own.

WHY GUNS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH DOMESTIC VIOLENCE by Tom Knighton Domestic violence is one of those things where we can all agree to some extent. We all agree it’s bad. We agree that it shouldn’t happen. We also agree that those who engage in it should be punished for it.... However, there are a lot of points of difference. In particular, there’s a claim that seems to say that if a gun is present, then the problems amplify. That simply doesn’t hold water, and an incident in Tennessee shows just how. Kingsport police said officers were called to a home in the 2100 block of Steadman Street after getting a call from a woman who said her brother, Bryan Hicks, had assaulted her with a baseball bat. Police said when they arrived, Hicks exited the residence and approached them with his hands up saying, I give up. The victim told officials that the home belonged to their dead parents and she had been staying there with her brother. According to the police report, the victim said she was collecting several guns left to her by their father when the siblings began arguing. She claimed her brother wanted her to give him two of the guns. In other words, guns were present in the home, yet the alleged attacker didn’t use them. Sure, it’s a brother and not a husband, but these two cohabitated and there were guns in the house. Hmmmmm. The truth is, guns aren’t the issue when it comes to domestic violence. Everytown for Gun Safety argues that over half of all women killed by an intimate partner are shot. However, 67 percent of all homicides are from folks who were shot. In other words, guns are less likely to be used in murder if it’s domestic violence. Let that sink in a bit. However, that kind of makes sense if you think about it. See, those who commit domestic violence tend to have anger management issues to some degree. They become enraged far too easily. When they do, they don’t necessarily think clearly. All they see is red. In fact, I could argue they don’t really think much at all even without being enraged, but As a result, though, they’ll use a weapon that’s close at hand. Like, say, a baseball bat. Or a knife. Or their bare hands. That’s probably why homicides by firearms are lower among domestic violence homicides than other murders as a whole. At the end of the day, it takes thinking to even remember that you have a gun. Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m not trying to make light of domestic violence. It’s a real problem and one that I really wish we could just purge from our society. Yet, at the same time, let’s also not pretend that women are the only perpetrators of domestic violence. They’re not. Women might be the majority, but not the totality, of victims. In just the same way, though, guns aren’t nearly the issue with domestic violence that many on the anti-gun side would like to pretend it to be.
