Knee touches crossovers around circle. In this drill, we are focusing on upper body & core stability while players’ knee touches the ice after each crossover. We love working these in to our training regimen as they are very beneficial. After the knee touches around the circle, players then execute a full lap around the circle while focusing on full extension and maximum outside edge efficiency on their inside leg on each push. Maybe it’s a little superstition but it’s definitely routine. Find what works for you. Make sure you are prepared mentally and physically as soon as you step on the ice. Consistency is a huge part of being a professional. Having a routine and demonstrating proper habits, gives you the best chance to compete at a high level every game no matter how you feel on that particular day.
