We would like to introduce the newest member of our herd.. please welcome Blue’s Comet we will be calling him Comet. Blue has been donated to our program and we look forward to all of the healing that he and our clients, team members, and barn family experience together. For now he is hanging out with Jazzy while he acclimates to his new home. He is going to have some time to just decompress and settle in before we ask anything of him. Our first step in the horses healing is allowing them time and space to simply be a horse. We are looking forward to our time with him. We will keep giving you all updates on his progress. welcome to your forever home buddy.

New Chicken curtains coops are clean and have fresh nest box herbs. Last week Steve came and helped put plastic around the coops. We are all ready for winter. Steve also wired both coops so we can have heated waterers and LIGHTS Thank you team ISF

It is with a shattered heart that I inform you that we lost Petunia tonight. My Rock, a cornerstone of the foundation of my life and this place has gone to gallop with the other members of our herd who are also in greener pastures. My heart hurts not only for myself but for those whose life she touched so deeply with her gentle heart and deep wisdom. Ever so easy with the little ones and a spitfire for those of us who were experienced Petunia had a way of teaching all of us e...xactly what we needed to learn. I got Petunia when she was a weanling..6 months old. I went with a friend to the barn where she was working because there was a filly that couldn’t be caught. Not only did we catch that filly that night I lost my heart to this fiery girl. I raised her, trained her, showed her, trail rode her all over Kentucky, PA, and MD. Some of my favorite trail rides were on her back. She was fearless and always lead horse. Then she became a show horse and trail horse for girls in the barn. Meggie won an Equitation class with her beating 17 horses. They barrel raced and did pole bending as well. Once at a show the cinch broke in the middle of poles and Tune stopped and Meggie stepped off of her back .. not even a scratch. Then the little people rode her. She has taught every child that has come here for the past ten years or more about horses. She was always the first. My most trustworthy lesson horse. Tonight as I led her in the dark down the alleyway between the house and arena I thought about just how many times we had taken this walk. Only this was to be our last. Petunia was comfortable at 7:45 and in incredible pain by 8pm. We can only guess that she ruptured. We let her go by 9. Swiftly she came into my world and just as swiftly she left. I am grateful that she had minimal suffering for a horse such as her deserved no less. Thank you Tune for being one of my greatest teachers. Say Hi to your buddies for me on the other side. Thank you to the people who made her life the gift that it was. To our barn family who were all here today in the best way they could be.. even if it wasn’t in person. To the friends and family that have reached out to me about my girl. See more

My rock Petunia is collicking. The vet was here this morning.. Impaction which is not the worst kind but we could use some prayers for our girl please. She will be 26 in May and has been with me since she was 6 months old. Tune teaches the children.. it’s not uncommon for her to be carting around 4 year olds. I’ll keep you all posted and thank you in advance
