"The need to combat hate is an increasingly urgent call to action. While the challenge will be great, we should not underestimate the incredible power we can harness when we come together with common purpose. Together with our colleagues at Pitt and with partners across the region, we look forward to advancing both scholarship and solutions on this important issue and, ultimately, helping to safeguard the right of all to peace, safety and respect." - President Farnam Jahanian CMU has announced new partnership with University of Pittsburgh to form a new research center to better understand and prevent the spread of extremist hate: Collaboratory Against Hate Research and Action Center. http://cmu.is/collaboratory #TartanProud #H2P

Welcome back to the spring semester! Our community knows and loves the student floor in the INI Building it’s the perfect space to gather for projects, studying and hanging out. To capture that spirit, GOINI is launching a Virtual Student Floor in gather.town - come join us! Link is in Slack and INI Hub. MS31 Pranay Garg played a big role in recreating the INI student floor down to the smallest detail. During my first year of CMU, I used to spend a lot of time at INI's s...tudent space. My friends and teammates goofing about, working on awesome projects and assignments. However, COVID changed a lot of things, even though INI was open, it was less accessible. I missed sitting with everyone, unwinding and peeking on what people are up to. To my surprise, talking with my friends, I wasn't the only one. So, if I can't go to INI, let’s bring INI here! Now we can be online and interact somewhat live as we always have!" Upcoming Events: Monday-Thursday (2/1 - 2/4) from 4pm to 5pm ET: Join us to ask questions or just drop in and say hi. This is open to all INI students (especially spring starts)! Thursday (2/4) @ 4pm ET: An introduction of the GOINI officers. Good luck to everyone this semester, and we hope to see you soon!
