From ISKCON Philadelphia In Memoriam - Piyush Shah It is with great sorrow and sadness that we inform you that Piyushbhai Haribhai Shah, husband of Priti Shah, ...left his body on Monday Oct 12th in Ahmedabad, India. He passed away after contracting COVID-19. We will remember him always chanting peacefully with his hand in his bead bag and reading Srimad Bhagavatam. He was a very inspiring devotee who liked to encourage others. His smile made you smile. Calm, peaceful, and devoted are some of the saintly qualities he was known by. He will surely be dearly missed by everyone. May our Lord Sri Sri Radha Sharadbihari keep his soul at Their Lotus Feet. He is survived by his wife Pritiben and children Gopal, Gopika, Radhika and Devika. Please keep the Shah family in your prayers. We pray that Krishna may comfort them during this difficult time. There will be a private ceremony for family held at the Temple.

The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: One who is unattached to the fruits of his work and who works as he is obligated is in the renounced order of life, and he is the true mystic, not he who lights no fire and performs no duty. What is called renunciation you should know to be the same as yoga, or linking oneself with the Supreme, O son of Pu, for one can never become a yog unless he renounces the desire for sense gratification. For one who is a neophyte in the eightfold yoga system, work is said to be the means; and for one who is already elevated in yoga, cessation of all material activities is said to be the means. Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 6: Dhyana Yoga #dailydarshan

Material nature consists of three modes goodness, passion and ignorance. When the eternal living entity comes in contact with nature, O mighty-armed Arjuna, he becomes conditioned by these modes. O sinless one, the mode of goodness, being purer than the others, is illuminating, and it frees one from all sinful reactions. Those situated in that mode become conditioned by a sense of happiness and knowledge. The mode of passion is born of unlimited desires and longings, O son of Kunt, and because of this the embodied living entity is bound to material fruitive actions. O son of Bharata, know that the mode of darkness, born of ignorance, is the delusion of all embodied living entities. The results of this mode are madness, indolence and sleep, which bind the conditioned soul. #dailydarshan
