Jamey's House of Music

I need your feedback. I very much support a $15 wage for restaurant workers, as folks deserve a living wage, especially the hard working people in the restaura...nt industry. As everyone knows, profit margins are slim to none in this business, and going to $15 would be a 40% jump in our labor cost. The only way to do this would be to raise our prices by a bare minimum of 25% to 30% and eliminate tipping except for outstanding service. Right now, the federal minimum wage for tipped workers is $2.13/hour, and the state minimum is $7.25 for everyone else. This is shameful. We pay $10 - $12 an hour to everyone currently. We've kept our prices quite low, but I feel this is the right thing to do, my question is, would you support this? Would you come in knowing that you were supporting an establishment that values its workers? Thank you for your thoughtful comments. You will make a difference.
