Today's Sermon Text: Phillipians 4:4-13 Paul was writing from prison, hardly the lap of luxury, or a place one would expect to find contentment. In Christ we find contentment beyond that given by our possessions. Paul thanks the church for putting actions to their words of faith. He understood that nothing could compare to the gift of salvation. Joy is here now in the royal reign of heaven, in the preaching of the word and the delivery of the Sacraments. Rejoice always in the power of Christ in the past, and in our lives today. He is peace in times of turbulence. The strength of Christ continues in us every day.

We recently learned of the passing of Lora Lee Cipollone + RIP 1931-2020 May God grant her family and friends peace, and comfort them with the surety of the Resurrection! Amen.
